On November 22 of this year, an open master class on the discipline «Information and Communication Technologies» was held at the Department of «Artificial Intelligence Technologies» within the framework of the methodological week of the faculty «Energy, Transport and Control Systems», in which students of the following academic groups took an active part: HTOV, TFP, PEiPB, MCM, TPPIOZHKH-21c. The topic of the lesson was devoted to the possibility of using modern ICT to solve complex mathematical problems.
During the master class, methods of solving a system of linear algebraic equations using a step-by-step mathematical method of simple iteration, using the Kramer method, as well as reproducing this method using mathematical functions of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet processor and verifying the correctness of solving a system of linear algebraic equations using modern information and communication online services and web applications were considered.
The master class was prepared and conducted by Galina Mikhailovna Kholodova, senior lecturer of the Department of General Education Disciplines, and Nina Popova, lecturer of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.
Summing up the lesson, the participants of the event note that the use of modern information and communication tools in solving mathematical problems not only expand the possibilities of providing information, but also actively involve in the process of cognition, develop mathematical logic and expand the range of applied methods of action, thereby providing flexibility in the management of the cognitive process. In addition, the variety of Internet services makes it possible for everyone not to limit themselves in choosing an application, but also to choose a more suitable online service based on the availability of detailed solution methods. As the students noticed, when using ICT, you can make the most complex calculations and accurate calculations in a matter of seconds.
A scientific seminar was held at the Department of Technological Machines and Transport as part of the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The seminar was attended by scientists and undergraduates of the university departments. Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences Ashkeev Zhasulan Amanzholovich made a report on the topic «Methods for obtaining continuous long-dimensional bulk metallic nanomaterials». In the course of the report, the existing and promising methods of pressure treatment of metals used to produce nanomaterials are presented. The developments of scientists of our university are particularly noted. The report aroused the lively interest of those present and developed into a constructive discussion. The scientists of the department Romanov V.I., Bestembek E.S. and Nogaev K.A. expressed their opinions on the topic of the seminar. A young scientist of the department Abishkenov M.Zh. Made a statement clarifying some of the provisions of the report. The participants noted that the seminar helped to better understand the problems and possibilities of developing methods for obtaining metallic nanomaterials, as well as to form an understanding of the main processes accompanying the formation of nanostructures.
A flood forecasting system and an agronomist’s tablet have been developed by scientists of the East Kazakhstan Technical University named after D. A. Yushchenko. Serikbayeva. The electronic resource will allow реальному времени, monitoring and forecasting the flood situation in a mode close to real time. The system contains digital, coordinate, and map data for infrastructure items.
«On the rivers of the East Kazakhstan region, there is a periodic threat of flooding of settlements and residential buildings. Therefore, we were faced with the task of developing a comprehensive information and analytical system that would increase the effectiveness of monitoring the water level in rivers and allow us to predict seasonal floods. For accurate modeling of river hydraulics and possible flood zones, we use the MIKE software package, as well as modern geographic information systems such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and Next GIS. They provide an opportunity to improve the quality of emergency forecasting. As a result, we get detailed information necessary to prevent flood situations and flooding of settlements, « said the VKTU scientist, PhD Marjan Toguzova.
University scientists also created an agronomist’s tablet. The technology will allow agronomists to monitor the situation in agricultural fields, based on which they can take into account possible risks and make cost-effective decisions.
«The Agronomist’s Tablet app is a universal app that is designed to work both indoors and in the field. It allows you to use the advantages of portable electronics in agricultural work. The availability of archives –field histories, maps, reference books, and other documents-simplifies and speeds up the decision-making process for specialists. The app also contains information about the state of agricultural fields, as well as recommendations for further field planning. This, in turn, will increase the efficiency of production at the lowest cost, « said Doctor of Technical Sciences Valentina Kolpakova.
