As part of the implementation of the Rukhani Zhagyru program, the library fund of the Karaganda Industrial University was replenished with new book textbooks published within the framework of the 100 New Textbooks project. The department «History of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian sciences» presented a new book fund for students as part of the methodological week of the faculty «Energy, transport and control system».

From the 2018-2019 academic year, new textbooks are being introduced into the educational process by the Department of CI and SRS within the framework of general education disciplines. In order to increase the interest of students in reading, the faculty of the department is carrying out various activities, continuing to work on introducing textbooks into the educational process, included in the library fund of the last stream of 100 projects of new textbooks.

During an open lesson in the discipline «Culturology and Psychology», students used the following textbooks:

Ter-Minasova S. Language and intercultural communication;

Boreev Yu. B. Aesthetics;

1. Gombrich History of Art;

Balm K. Theater Studies;

Elsesser T. Cinema theory: an introduction from the point of view of feelings;

Bolman F. History of world music;

McKinnon B., Fiala E. Theory and modern problems of ethics.

In the reading room of the library of the Karaganda Industrial University, along with the reading of new books, open cognitive art classes were held on the implementation of various tasks in the lessons of the SSSP.

This event is aimed not only at shaping youth as a future professional, but also at developing the skills of reading books as a reader and developing the consciousness of the intelligentsia for the purpose of a new humanitarian education through the 100 most popular textbooks in the world.

The great thinker Aristotle once said: «Reading is the highest form of understanding», the great teacher of the nation Y. Altynsarin said: «Come on, guys, learn!» One cannot but agree with the words of great scientists, one of the main goals of the country’s spiritual modernization is quality education, which will undoubtedly contribute to the formation of a reading culture.

February 11, acting  Chairman of the Board-Rector of the Karaganda Industrial University Zhautikov Bakhyt Akhatovich took part in a direct line organized by the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Karaganda region.  Bakhyt Akhatovich acquainted all the participants of the event with the work carried out at the university on the prevention of corruption and the implementation of the «Sanaly urpag» project.

The anti-corruption activity of KarIU, being systemic and continuous.  For the active prevention of corruption violations in all educational programs of the bachelor’s degree from the enrollment in 2019, the discipline «Fundamentals of Law and Integrity» has been introduced.

In 2019 and 2020.  In order to increase the transparency of management management, monitoring of corruption risks in management management and academic specifics of the university was carried out, and self-reports were prepared to the republican project office «ADAL BILIM» based on the results of internal self-diagnostics.  In order to organize a permanent feedback system, a helpline, the headquarters «Clean Session» are working, the Rector’s Blog, the accounts of the University, the Rector and the Ethics Commissioner on social networks Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Through the automated information system of the Platonus University, attendance, academic performance, control activities, final certification of students are monitored.  A gradual transition to the written form of exams is being carried out, the Antiplagiat program is used to check students’ term papers and theses, master’s theses.

At the end of 2020, the Karaganda Industrial University was awarded a letter of thanks by the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Karaganda region for its active work in the field of combating corruption offenses.

First Deputy Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Karaganda region Orazkhan Askhat Orazkhanovich noted that systematic work is being carried out at the Karaganda Industrial University to combat corruption and wished good luck in future work.

Since 2019, the Department of Chemical Technology and Ecology of the Karaganda Industrial University has been implementing new educational programs “Technology of pharmaceutical production” and “Processing of minerals”.

In order to improve the quality of teaching professionally oriented disciplines, the department created new and re-equipped existing laboratories: «Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Chemistry» and «Laboratory of Processes and Apparatus».

In the new laboratory, students enrolled in the educational program «Technology of pharmaceutical production» have the opportunity to perform laboratory work in the discipline «Pharmaceutical Chemistry».  The laboratory has a stand with various drugs, which students use when testing them for authenticity, identifying the composition and determining the quantitative content of the active substances of these drugs.  For this, the laboratory has all the necessary instruments, reagents and chemical glassware.  In this laboratory, it is planned to carry out research work with the involvement of especially interested students.  The university leadership continues to equip this laboratory, and we are confident that the pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory will become a unique laboratory for the acquisition of professional skills and will allow graduates of the educational program to be competitive in the pharmaceutical technology industry.

The existing laboratory of processes and devices has been re-equipped in order to expand its functionality.  As a result, this laboratory can acquire certain professional skills for students enrolled in the educational program «Mineral Processing».  A flotation machine is installed in this laboratory, which is one of the most important types of equipment for mineral processing.

I would especially like to note that the laboratory of processes and devices is also used in the educational process by students enrolled in the educational programs «Technology of pharmaceutical production» and «Chemical technology of organic substances».  This laboratory is unique in that it is the only laboratory of processes and apparatus in the universities of Central Kazakhstan.  In this regard, students enrolled in the same educational programs of neighboring universities dream of doing an internship and acquiring practical skills in this laboratory.

The ceremony of awarding the winner of the international prize «Volunteer of the Year» was held today at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia.

The award was established on the initiative of the Head of State Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev as part of the Year of Volunteer held in Kazakhstan.

In the nomination «For active participation in the search for missing people» the award was awarded to our compatriot, associate professor at NUST MISIS, professor at the Moscow Academy of State and Municipal Administration (MAGMU), member of the Aktobe community of Moscow, Asylbek Toleshov.

Together with his Russian colleagues, he is actively working to search for the Kazakh people who went missing during the Great Patriotic War, to search for their relatives, to preserve the memory of the victims.

Asylbek Kuantaevich Toleshov is an active participant in public events held at the Karaganda Industrial University. On May 5, 2020, he took part in an online teleconference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 100th anniversary of the Hero of the Soviet Union Nurken Abdirov, whose platform was our university. In his speech, Asylbek Kuantaevich told about the feat of Kazakhstanis on the battlefields, shared the results of the work being done to find the remains of soldiers.

In the current academic year, between the Karaganda Industrial University and the Yekibastuz Engineering and Technical Institute named after Academician K. Satpayev signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which became the first step towards long-term cooperation between universities.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to develop cooperation in the field of training highly qualified personnel, creating a personnel reserve, exchange of experience, including through the organization of guest lectures, seminars, trainings and other forms of interaction.

To date, according to the program of internal academic mobility of the Republic of Kazakhstan and within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between EITI named after K. Satpayev and KarIU in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, students of the specialty “Metallurgy” and educational programs “Power supply of industrial facilities” and “Heat power engineering of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services” were trained. At the moment, students of the educational program “Industrial and Civil Engineering” are studying under the exchange program.

Signing of the Memorandum and further development of cooperation between the Karaganda Industrial University and the Yekibastuz Engineering and Technical Institute named after Academician K. Satpayev will be an excellent opportunity to form a high-quality environment of higher education and advanced science.
