First-year students took part in the massive sports festival – Spartakiad.

Spartakiada “First-year student-2017” was held in the sports halls of the University from 18 to 30 October. Participation in it was made by the teams of three faculties and the team of the Technical and Economic College at the KSIU.

Competitions were held in several sports, in which dexterity, more than two hundred people measured strength, endurance and intelligence.

The leader of the football tournament was the team of E&S Department, the best player was Adlet Tursunov (group E-17). In basketball among boys the first place was taken by the team of Technical and Economic College at KSIU, in volleyball – by M&MS Department.

In the framework of the Spartakiad, chess competitions were held. The first place – the team of IT&MS Department. The winner of the personal championship among the young men was Turtan Sultan (gr. EE-17k), among the girls – Kuanyshkyzy Saulet (gr. TMPW-17k).

The E&S Department team was the leader in the drafts competition. Personal championships among young men were won by Shaldybaev Dinmurat (gr. S-17k), among girls – Bagimbet Nargiz (gr.CT&S-17k).

Freshmen showed themselves in competitions on Togyz-Kumalak. First place – at the national team of M&MS Department. Toremuratov Bakbergen (group TMPW-17K) won a personal championship among the young men, among the girls – Zhumabayev Akmaral (gr. TMPW -1).

The leader of the table tennis competition was the E&S Department team. Bektuganov Saken (gr.S-17k) is recognized as the first racket of the university among freshmen, Shlyak Oksana, a student of the college of the fuel and energy complex, among the girls.

In the sports and entertainment relay race, which was held at a high sports and emotional level, four teams of 10 people met. Following the results of nine competitions, E&S Department team became the leader.

At the conclusion of all games, the three winners of the Spartakiad are as follows: 1st place – E&S Department team, 2 – M&MS Department, 3 – IT&MS Department. All the winners were awarded with diplomas. The team, which won the first place, received a Winner’s Cup. The most active participants of the competitions were recognized students of E&S Department team Vadim Meleshko and Adlet Tursunov.

The judging of the competitions was conducted by the teachers of the PE section with the active participation of the student-athletes of the senior courses. The main judge of the Spartakiad was Raisa Kolesnikova.

In the Karaganda State Industrial University, the Presidential Olympiad on the subjects of the natural-mathematical cycle among the eleventh graders of Kazakh schools will be held from November 7 to 10.

The organizer of the Olympiad is the republican scientific and practical center “Daryn” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Olympiad is held since 2008 on personal behalf of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev. Its main idea is the identification and support of talented children, the upbringing of patriotic spirit, strong, and intellectual, highly educated Kazakh schoolchildren, in-depth study of natural and mathematical sciences.

There are already two rounds of the Olympiad behind. In the last days of September, 2,631 graduates from 1,183 schools took part in the first, regional, stage, of which 1526 with the Kazakh language of instruction. 380 students from two hundred and thirty schools of the regions of the republic were admitted to the second stage, of which 220 with the Kazakh language of instruction.

The distance round of the Presidential Olympiad of the natural-mathematical cycle was held for 364 graduates simultaneously in all regions of the republic on-line. The schoolchildren were provided with communication from the interactive studio of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To participate in the final stage, 163 graduates were admitted, who scored the highest number of points.

Recall that the Presidential Olympiad is held annually and consists of three stages: regional, qualifying (in two rounds) and republican. Each participant of the Olympiad at all stages performs assignments in four subjects: in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

The organizational committee of the Presidential Olympiad includes representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its subordinate organizations, educational management bodies, the council of rectors of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The jury consists of scientists from leading domestic and foreign higher educational institutions, former winners of international olympiads.

Participation in the Presidential Olympiad gives graduates of Kazakh schools the opportunity to fully realize themselves, show their abilities, deepen knowledge, increase interest in the subjects of the natural-mathematical direction. Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad have the pre-emptive right to receive an educational grant in higher educational institutions of the republic.

At the Karaganda State Industrial University on November 2, a seminar was held on the phased transfer of the Kazakh alphabet from the Cyrillic alphabet to the Latin script. Teachers of Temirtau schools and colleges took part in this event.

The new Kazakh alphabet, based on the Latin script, was approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 26 this year. The transition to it will occur in stages until 2025. This issue is the most discussed in society today.

Candidate of Philology, Professor Sembiev Kurmangazy Zykyruly, who among the invited experts took part in the seminar, told that in his history the Kazakh language has undergone many changes. In the 7-9 centuries, Kazakhs used runic letters. With the advent of the territory of Islam, the Kazakh language began to be recorded in Arabic script. In the modified adapted form the Arabic ligature was used up to 1929. The next 10 years, the Kazakh people tried to translate their language into Latin, but already in 1940, the country began to use the Cyrillic alphabet. According to Kurmangazy Zykyruly, the translation of the Kazakh alphabet from Cyrillic to Latin script is an important and justified step on the eve of the 26th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan.

Teachers of schools and colleges of the city, who took part in the seminar, will act as the main conductors of new ideas. It is the teachers who give knowledge to the younger generation that will be able to communicate this important information to the public as effectively as possible.

At the Karaganda State Industrial University on November 1, there was an interactive platform “Rukhani zhangyru: Kazirgi zamannyn syn-tegeurynrderi”, in which heads of state institutions, representatives of urban NGOs and ethno-cultural organizations took part.

The director of the department for educational work of the KSIU, Madina Salpenova, dwelled in detail on the special projects of the national revival program “Rukhani zhangyru”, the main goal of which is the formation of an united nation of strong and responsible people.

The project “100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language” is aimed at the restoration of the departments of the humanities in all higher educational institutions of the country, the translation into the Kazakh language of the world’s 100 best textbooks in all areas of humanitarian knowledge, and the creation of a non-governmental National Translation Bureau.

The project “Sacred Geography of Kazakhstan” is concentrated on the spiritual relics of our country, which are of national character.

The next project – “Modern Kazakhstan culture in the global world” – involves expanding the degree of recognition of the country through the positioning of achievements and the best examples of Kazakhstan culture. An international level support should be given to the works of modern authors, especially young ones, who actively use modern forms of submitting their creations.

“100 new faces” project will present to Kazakhstan outstanding people in various fields of activity: singers, composers, athletes, scientists, journalists, entrepreneurs and other professionals in their field.

“For the successful implementation of the Rukhani zhangyru program, modernization of the public consciousness is needed, which can be carried out

only on the basis of updating public and humanitarian knowledge,” said Madina Salpionova. – The main condition for the modernization of a new type is the preservation of its culture, its own national code.

In accordance with the program, “Rukhani Zhangyru” Karaganda State Industrial University conducts systematic work to preserve interethnic harmony, setting itself the task of forming a generation of Kazakhstan people with a high tolerant culture, for which the principles of national unity and public accord are a priority. Realizing the special importance of the spiritual mission of education, in 2016 a specialized department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was established and successfully working at the university, whose activities are aimed at patriotic education of the youth. Memorandums on cooperation with the museum of history and local lore and the historical and cultural center of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan were signed.

For the first time in the region and in Kazakhstan, within the framework of the “Rukhani zhangyru” program, a multimedia projects competition and an essay “The History of My City” aimed at developing research initiatives for young people was held. The main prize was a grant to study at KSIU. This year more than 100 schoolchildren from all over Kazakhstan took part in the competition. The project, which won the first place, is placed in the programs “Virtual University” and “Virtual Temirtau”. Such competitions are fascinating in format and awaken interest in research activities. As the students themselves note, the contest allowed them to learn about the city of Temirtau many interesting facts. The project “History of my city – Tugan zher” was included in the register of the program “Rukhani zhangyru” in the Karaganda region.

Due to the Day of the First President of Kazakhstan, the office of the “Tugan Zher”, the Academy of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan, will open at the KSIU, on the basis of which ethno-cultural associations of the city will conduct work among students of the University and youth of the city to promote the traditions, customs and languages of ethnic groups living in the region. It is planned to hold a large-scale Festival of Culture “Caravan of Friendship” in conjunction with ethno-cultural associations and with the participation of young people.

The participants of the dialogue platform identified priorities and tasks for the coming years. A phased transition of the Kazakh language into Latin script will

proceed with the parallel functioning of the Cyrillic alphabet during the adaptation period. Attention to social and humanitarian knowledge through the implementation of the project “100 best textbooks of the world” will provide a platform for training qualified personnel able to compete in the field of knowledge on a global scale. The formation of patriotism will be organized on the basis of local lore through the program “Tugan zher”. And the project “100 new faces of Kazakhstan” will present citizens with the history of real contemporaries of Independence who have made a significant contribution to the development of the country.

October 27 the traditional Initiation into the students was held at the university.

Initiation to students is an important event in the life of any newcoming student.

The tradition of dedication to students has existed for centuries. This is a kind of ritual, which not only entrants are eagerly awaiting, but also undergraduates who want to pass the “torch”.

This tradition can be called international, since it extends to all countries and continents. Even famous Harvard and Cambridge held this tradition since the very beginning.

Official part included a speech by the vice-rector for academic work Sivyakova Galina Alexandrovna and Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Mechanical Engineering Musin Dinislyam Karikevich.

KSIU freshmen, having received from Dinislyama Karikevich’s hands, symbolic student cards, gave a solemn oath in which they gave the floor to hold high the banner of the student of KSIU, to study well, obey the curators and undergraduates.

The first year students of the faculty of metallurgy and machine building, the faculty of energy, transport and management systems, the faculties of economics and construction, the technical and economic college at KSIU showed their creativity. As a homework, they showed a colorful, incendiary flash mob. Creatively the first-year students of the college appeared, before the flash mob they showed an interesting video with the wishes of freshmen from teachers and students. Prolonged applause was caused by performances in the team flash mob of the first-year students of the FETSU Zabirov Ayub, Ashurov Sukhrob, Mutiyev Chingiz, who came to study with us from sunny Dushanbe.

Emotional tone of the event was set by positive leaders: members of the KVN team of the KSIU Kim Slava and Jumageldiev Aydin, as well as the beginning hosts Serzhan and Toleu Uldana, who with their jokes and ability to work on stage “warmed up” the hall.

Songs performed by our talented students Zhumakan Maksata, Talgata Nurhat, Avizhat Aksunkar, Nurkeldyzyzy Ұlbolsyn, Ainagul, the duo “Alau” (Arystanbekov Maksat, Sadirkhanov Almat) broke a flurry of applause. And under the final song “Kazakh Eli” the whole hall caught fire with five hundred lights, turning the end of the event into a colorful light enchanting spectacle.

The evening continued in the dance hall of the university, where a festive disco was held.

The celebration of Initiation into the students was a success, in turn, the Committee on Youth Affairs KSIU wishes all freshmen to pass through the first milestone and then successfully pass the session!
