On September 27, Karaganda state industrial University hosted an event dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of Abay Kunanbayev, organized by the departments “Assembly of people of Kazakhstan”, “History of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian disciplines”.
The purpose of the event – the preservation and promotion of the literary heritage of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev, the formation of a sense of patriotism among young people, involvement in the history of their people, identification and support of talented youth in the realization of their creative potential, education of artistic taste and familiarization of young performers to the best examples of national culture and art.
The program of the event was very informative and rich, the participants demonstrated attentiveness, knowledge and creativity.
In the singing block, each team had to leave one participant and read Abay’s poems in an expressive form. Students of the group UIA-19 Hafizova Diana and Sadykova Diana surprised everyone by reciting poems by Abai, thus received the same number of points.
In the second block, students of the EPO-19 group A. Vlasov and A. Zhangildin demonstrated excellent knowledge about the life and work of Abai Kunanbayev, preparing a vivid presentation.
In the third block we decided to check the attentiveness of the participants in the form of testing “on the pages of history”, asking 25 questions in two options. The result was very great, so both teams had a draw.
One of the most responsible blocks was the fourth block – ” 40 words of edification in a modern way.” Students had to choose the words of edification and understand their meaning, what exactly did the poet Abay want to convey to us.
The seventh word: “Without revealing the visible and invisible mysteries of the universe, without explaining everything to yourself, a man does not become a man.”
This word of edification tells us that man has two beginnings, physical and spiritual. Today, adults are fixated on the physical part, while the main part of the person – the soul, the desire for knowledge, achievements, feats. And this once again confirms that the words of edification of Abay Kunanbayev is one of the brightest legacies of the Kazakh people and today’s youth should study and understand his message.
In the fifth block, students reviewed the work of Mukhtar Auezov and his book “the Way of Abay”. Many of the participants decided to get acquainted with this book to be closer to the work of Abay Kunanbayev.
According to the results of the five blocks, the two teams scored the same number of points and shared the victory.
Abay is a world-recognized wise teacher, poet and genius of mankind. The greatness and phenomenality of the genius of Abay is that he was able to raise to an unprecedented height the resilience of the national spirit, singing and introducing into the minds of his fellow tribesmen perseverance and focus. We must again and again thank fate for what we have in the face of Abai such a worthy, proud spiritual support.
