Within the framework of the republican marathon “Adal Zhol – Clean Path”, an anticorruption quest was held at the KIU. On April 11, seven teams from different Temirtau colleges showed and told how to fight corruption.

The students of the College of Trade and Nutrition, the Medical College, the multi-disciplinary college “Miras”, the vocational-technical college, the industrial-technological college, the technical college and the higher polytechnic college took part in the quest organized by the KIU jointly with the internal policy department of the city of Temirtau.

The jury consisted of: D.N. Zhunusova, head of the internal policy department of Temirtau city; E.Gomarov, head of the state legal department of the apparatus of the city of Temirtau; member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan; T. S. Voitenko; lecturer of the department “History of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian disciplines KIU D. K. Zhanabergenova and lawyer KIU O. M.Shalbarbayev.

The main goals and objectives of the quest – the formation of young people skills of anti-corruption behavior, intolerance to manifestations of corruption in everyday life, inculcation of anti-corruption skills, education of honesty and decency.

In the first stage, teams needed to correctly and quickly answer questions on anti-corruption topics. For example, when the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Combating Corruption” was passed, who is obliged to provide a declaration on income and property, who is the subject of counteracting corruption?

During the second stage, participants collected “anti-corruption puzzles. During the third part, the words were explained, which one of the participants explained, without uttering one-root words. Then the students of the colleges waited for the filvord on the topic “Justice”, where they had to answer, what are the material values ​​accepted for the action or inaction by the official, which supervisory authority controls the legality of the actions of citizens and officials, what is the name of the payment for what was done, and so on.

Noisy and exciting was the game with the audience “Give a bribe.” Someone was hiding money bills, and someone was looking for them. Participants experienced that giving or seeking bribes is not an easy task.

During the next stage, various illegal situations were demonstrated on the screen, and participants determined the type of corruption. Now, college students know for sure that if the city administration delays the resolution of the issue with a land plot for a long period at the request of the entrepreneur, then this is red tape, but if some government official in charge of distributing free medicines supplies part of the medicines to private pharmacies for their further realization at high prices, is a waste.

The final stage was the compilation of a poster for 7 minutes on an anti-corruption theme, the writing of a quatrain to it and, in fact, the presentation of the drawing.

After the jury’s meeting, the results were announced:

1 place was taken by the team “Құқық қорғаушылары” from Temirtau Higher Polytechnical College;

2 nd place – the team “Nespor” from Temirtau industrial-technological college;

3 place was won by the team “Operation Y in Temirtau” of the Temirtau multidisciplinary college “Miras”.

The winners were given memorable gifts and certificates, all participants received diplomas, and the leaders who prepared the teams received thank-you letters.

At the end of the quest, the facilitators reminded the participants that corruption is a street with a two-way traffic: if there are those who take, then necessarily there are those who give. It is necessary to fight in all directions. The fight against corruption is everyone’s business.

In Astana on April 4-6, the traditional republican chess tournament among students for the Dinara Saduakasova Cup took place. The prize fund was 1 500 000 tenge. For the first time the team of Karaganda State Industrial University took part in competitions.

Dinara Saduakasova – multiple world chess champion, international grandmaster among women, international master among men, multiple and absolute champion of Kazakhstan, Goodwill Ambassador of the UN Children’s Fund Unicef. The tournament for the Dinara Saduakasova Cup was founded in 2013 on the initiative of the student community of the Eurasian National University named by Gumilev. These competitions are held within the walls of this institution annually for full time students of higher and secondary special educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The tournament was attended by 33 teams from all regions of the country. Each team consisted of two men and one girl under 26 years of age. From KSIU took part in the competitions Vasily Kim (group VTPO-14), Sultan Turan (gr. EE-17k) and Aygerim Makhmetova (group S-15k).

The tournament consisted of nine rounds. On each of the three days the teams met each other in three games of 15 minutes each. Competitions were held on the Swiss system, which allowed, if necessary, to score the missing points.

– The competitions were interesting. Between the parties there were big breaks, during which we could sort out our mistakes, talk, play with other participants, which we did, – said Vasily Kim. – Opponents we come across different, but in general there was no team that would be head and shoulders above all. In every game there were chances and there was a fight.

KSIU team took the 21st place. The organizers noted the good level of training of our children and their uniform form with the logo and the name of the university. At the end of the tournament all participants were awarded certificates and memorable gifts.

On April 6, 100 students from the Karaganda Industrial University took part in the anti-corruption marathon “Adal zhol – Honest Road”, organized by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service, with the support of the Akimat of Temirtau. The main objectives of the action, which will be held in all cities and regions of Kazakhstan, are the prevention of corruption, the formation of the level of anti-corruption culture, the principle of “zero tolerance” for all forms of offenses, the involvement of people of Temirtau in the fight against corruption, and the display of an active civic position.

The torch passed to our city Karaganda. A meeting was held in front of the Akimat of Temirtau, attended by a city akim G. Ashimov, the head of the Department for Civil Service Affairs in the Karaganda Region J. Sarsenov, civil servants, deputies of the city maslikhat and students. During the rally, KIU representatives blew balloons, which represented a swindle, bribery and venality of officials. Thus, the young men and women called upon all the young people of the city of Temirtau to join the republican action and stand in line with fighters against corruption.

Then the students of KIU  held the action “Clean Hands” in the akimat building, giving pieces of soap to the heads of state institutions as a symbol of fighting corruption. In addition, the young people attached to the doors of the offices of akim Temirtau, the secretary of the city maslikhat and the leaders of all government agencies signs with the slogan “I do not take bribes, I do not give!” And a telephone hotline. Thus, an active and irreconcilable civil position was expressed in relation to corruption manifestations. Here it should be recalled that the students of KIU repeatedly became winners of city and regional competitions aimed at counteracting corruption.

The marathon continued its auto race around the city. Cars and buses passed through Temirtau with state flags, flags with the inscriptions “Adal Jol”, stretches with slogans concerning anti-corruption.

The marathon will last until April 20. Contests, actions, quest, flash mobs, meetings will be held within its framework, the main purpose of which is the formation of an anti-corruption culture among the population. The marathon will end with a forum.

Became known last finalist of the open league “Magnitka” season 2017-2018. On April 4, the KVN Spring Cup was held at the Karaganda State Industrial University.

In the game on “For the Lovely Ladies!” 7 teams took part. Jokes, you know, were appropriate. Each team was given five minutes to speak.

The first place in the end was taken by the guys from the team “Blood Group”. In the second position – the team “Non-standard”, in third place – “Team of programmers UFF.” The best player recognized Zarina Nozimova from the team “PedaBogi”. The champion of the spring Cup reached the final of the championship. The organizers of the game were the Karaganda state industrial university, the open league in Temirtau, the branch of the Nur Otan party working in the JSC «ArcelorMittal Temirtau», the Temirtau branch of the YC «Zhas Otan» and the PA «Temirtau Youth Club».

Third year student of KSIU, future economist Karina Smagulova took 2nd place in the regional scientific and practical conference of undergraduates and students “Buketov’s readings-2018” in the section “Actual issues of economics and law”.

The conference was held on March 29 in the KarSU named by Buketov. The student of the group “Economics-15” Karina Smagulova made a report about  “Features of the fourth industrial revolution.”

– I think that today my topic is relevant for discussion, – says Karina. – Opinions differ: someone says that this is a new stage in the development of the country, and some believe that the state will fall into the social-economic crisis. In my report, I tried to reflect all points of view, as well as the pros and cons of the topic and its features.

As the third-year student said, she received a lot of impressions at the conference and gained a lot of experience. The event was held at the highest level, the reports of all participants were relevant and informative.
