In Almaty, on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the VI Central Asian International Forum on Quality Assurance of Education “Transnational Interaction in the Global Educational Space” is being held, organized by the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency (NAAR). Within the framework of the Forum, based on the results of the Eurasian University Ranking for outstanding academic achievements and commitment to research, Karaganda industrial university was awarded the “Quality Star” badge of this Agency. The forum was attended by minister of education and science of the republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, deputy of the senate of the parliament of the republic of Kazakhstan Zhumagulov B.T., Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Tuimebayev B.T. deputy chairman of the council of senators at the senate of the parliament of the republic of Kazakhstan Aitimova B.S., rectors of universities, representatives of government agencies, members of parliaments, international accreditation agencies, quality assurance networks of higher education education of Kazakhstan, Germany, USA, India, Turkey, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries. The independent accreditation and rating agency (NAAR) is a leading international accreditation agency for quality assurance of education, is included in the European Quality assurance register EQAR and is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education ENQA Our university takes an active part in the NAAR rankings and holds leading positions in a number of specialties. KarIU has successfully passed the international specialized accreditation of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs.
On October 5, 2022, a guest from Turkey, Professor Aydin Çetin, arrived at the Department “Artificial Intelligence Technologies” of Karaganda Industrial University. The professor is a representative of one of the largest higher educational institutions in Turkey – Gazi University, located in the city Ankara. Aydin Çetin works at this university at the Department of Computer Engineering.
Professor Aydin Çetin is a co-author of 57 publications in peer-reviewed international publications, including 31 articles in journals included in the Scopus database. The relevance of the research conducted by the professor is confirmed by the citation of his publications and, accordingly, by the high Hirsch index (H-Index (Scopus) = 8, H-index (WoS) = 7).
The visit of the Turkish professor in KarIU will last until November 3, 2022. During his visit in Temirtau, Aydin Çetin will participate in organizing and conducting classes for undergraduate, master and PhD students, trainings for the teaching staff of the Department “Artificial Intelligence Technologies” and other structural units of the university. It is also planned to jointly conduct scientific research, the results of which will be published in leading scientific journals.
According to the Action Plan to eliminate the causes and conditions contributing to the commission of corruption offenses identified by the results of an internal analysis of corruption risks at the Karaganda Industrial University, as well as to form an anti-corruption culture among first-year students, a single curatorial hour was held on the university platform from September 26 to 29 this year, dedicated to familiarizing students and their parents with Codes of Academic Integrity of students and Corporate Ethics. Students, having familiarized themselves with the Codes, filled out the familiarization sheets. The parents showed understanding and interest in further work with the university on combating corruption.
