Every new academic year at CarIU traditionally begins with «Freshman Week». The new academic year has not become an exception to the rules, because our first-year students are the best graduates of schools in Atyrau, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Zhambyl, Almaty, Mangistau regions, Temirtau and all districts of our region.

During the adaptation week, seminars-presentations, a Health Festival, sports contests, relay races and excursions to the city Museum of Local Lore, the winter garden, the historical and cultural center of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held for newly minted students. All the events of this week are held not only to help newly-minted students to adapt more easily to their new environment, but also to make these first days of a new stage of life memorable.

Today, curatorial hours «Let’s get acquainted» were held for our first-year students, where they were able to get acquainted with the leadership of the university, with the history and activities of our university, the profile of faculties, departments and departments, prospects for their development, with the information and technical base of KarIU, classrooms, academic buildings, laboratories, library and reading room, academic calendar for 2022– 2023 academic year, the internal regulations of students of CarIU, the Code of Academic Integrity of students, with the rules of ethics of students, staff and teaching staff of KarIU, as well as to be instructed in fire safety techniques and visit the museum of the history of KarIU.

In addition, a single hour of integrity was organized and held for all university students, with the participation of the executive secretary of the Karaganda regional branch of the Amanat party, Bekzat Altynbekov. The purpose of which is to instill in students an idea of the main values of a person-honesty, integrity, justice and faith, to promote the acquisition of moral qualities of kindness, intelligence, truthfulness, mercy, etc., to foster respect and mercy for each other.

Summing up, we note that the first day of participation in the week of the freshman-2022 was excellent!

Today, sports competitions for first-year students «Health Festival-2022» were held in the physical culture section.

The festival program includes sports events: running 60 meters and general physical fitness. 260 students took part with pleasure and showed their physical abilities.

The competitions were held at the Metallurg Stadium. According to the results of the competition in running at a distance of 60 meters among boys, Tursynbek Yerdos became the winner, among girls – Anastasia Tribunskaya.

In push-up competitions: Tursynbek Yerdos took 1st place, Sagatov Alikhan took 2nd place and Kuanysh Umidbek took 3rd place.

THE SEMINAR «I CHOOSE LIFE»!

On september 1, the head of state in his message called on everyone to a nationwide fight against synthetic drugs. Synthetic drugs are becoming cheaper and more accessible every year. They are almost freely sold through social networks, messengers and even delivered to your home.  Therefore, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive plan to combat drug addiction and drug trafficking.

The «BIZ BIRGEMIZ» youth league and the representative office of the NGO «Assembly of Zhastary» in the Karaganda region support the nationwide fight against synthetic drugs and implement the project «I choose life» with the support of the center for support of civil initiatives and the NGO “Sergali Turkestan”.

Within the framework of the project, a series of informal meetings with young people is planned, as well as a «Tick-tok» competition, so that schoolchildren and students can independently demonstrate their position on the harm of synthetic drugs. Today, on september 16, the fifth informal meeting with the student youth was organized on the principle of «Equal to equal».

Students of 1-4 courses of Karaganda industrial university got acquainted with the concept of drugs and criminal liability for the storage, sale and use of narcotic substances, actively discussed and analyzed the most pressing problems related to drug use. At the end of the seminar, questions were asked and rational answers were received.

Today, head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a Message to the people of Kazakhstan, in which he announced initiatives aimed at solving the most pressing problems of the country. Priorities are qualitative improvement of the work of all sectors of the economy and improvement of the welfare of citizens.

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan paid special attention to issues that play an important role in improving the quality of the nation – the education system, ranging from preschool to higher education. It was emphasized that kindergarten teachers need to improve their social status, wages, and approve specific requirements for specialists in this field: they are the ones who introduce the child to the world of knowledge. The great role of school teachers, who lay the basic knowledge in all subjects in children, educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and on the basis of universal moral values, was noted.
And, of course, the Head of State in his Message emphasized higher education, the need to improve its quality and accessibility for all the youth of the country. The President noted that as the quality of education in domestic universities improves, the cost of studying in them will also increase. The state plans to allocate educational grants, which will be differentiated in size from 30 to 100 percent, depending on the results of the UNT and other indicators. A preferential loan for training at 2-3% per annum will also be provided. These measures will make higher education more accessible. The issue of student dormitories was also raised, specific ways of building such facilities were proposed.
All the initiatives of the Head of State are aimed at improving the situation in the country, improving the quality of education. The heads of the country’s universities, as well as the whole society, have something to think about and participate without delay in the implementation of all these instructions.
