Under the auspices of the National Office of Erasmus + and the Council of Rectors of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh delegation headed by Tasbulatova Shayzada, the Director of the National Office of Erasmus + in Kazakhstan, to familiarize themselves with the activities of universities of international level stay with the work program in Italy. The delegation included the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev, North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybayev, Almaty University of Energy and Communications, Aktobe Regional State University named after K. Zhubanov, University of International Business.
The purpose of the working trip is to discuss possible events and the development of bilateral cooperation, academic exchange, joint training of specialists and the implementation of scientific and educational projects of KGIU with universities in Italy. During the visit, the experience of Italian universities in the field of modernization of higher education, the organization of educational and research activities, as well as the establishment and strengthening of bilateral relations between the universities of the two states, the discussion of the possibility of joint participation in E + CBHE projects was studied.
Italy is one of the countries with the oldest higher education system and the birthplace of the University of Bologna – the first higher education institution in Europe. Also, it is the most popular destination for foreigners in the Erasmus + student exchange program.
Karaganda State Industrial University signed a cooperation agreement with Italian universities Cassino Southern Lazio University, Genova University. Cassino Southern Lazio University is located between Naples and Rome, near which the Alfa Romeo plant in Arese is located – the industrial zone of Alfa Romeo. Under the agreement, students and undergraduates of KGIU will have a unique opportunity to undergo an internship at the Alfa Romeo automobile plant.
Genova university is one of the oldest universities in Europe. The year of its foundation is considered to be 1481, when various specialized schools and other institutions united into a single educational institution. There are branches in five cities. There are 53 research departments and a department specializing in information technology. More than forty thousand students enrolled in 178 programs study there, among them are students from 32 countries of the world. Scientific research is carried out in 13 subject areas defined by the Council of the National University.
During the visit, a meeting of Kazakhstani university leaders with the leadership of Link Campus University in the person of President Vincenzo Scotty, vice-rectors, where the institutional presentation of the university and its academic programs took place.
Representatives of the Italian alma mater focused the attention of the Kazakh delegation on the characteristics of the university, which combines the strategy of teaching the English system with the culture of Italy and the didactic method. Kazakhstanis were also able to familiarize themselves with the activities of the National Agency INDIRE, which provided full information about the structure of the Italian higher education system. International cooperation is a priority of the Karaganda State Industrial University and an important tool in ensuring the quality of education and its compliance with international standards.
It should be noted that at the moment KGIU cooperates with more than 30 partner partners from near and far abroad.
