Also, the seminars were attended by representatives of the Aktobe Regional University K. Zhubanov.
Recently, much attention has been paid to the issues of reducing emissions of harmful industrial waste, including for metallurgy, this issue is very relevant. The Turkish professor shared his experience in developing non-waste metallurgical production technologies that are used in Turkey. These technologies imply the construction of a system from different branches of knowledge, together aimed at creating a circular economy, which implies the use and processing of waste from the metallurgical industry.
In October and November 2022, as part of the academic mobility for students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the metallurgical direction of the Karaganda Industrial University, Professor Onuralp Yücel of the Istanbul Technical University gives lectures and conducts practical classes and seminars. Istanbul Technical University is one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in 1773. Professor Onuralp Yucel works at the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Faculty of Chemistry and Metallurgy. The professor deals with a wide range of issues, including: mineral processing, smelting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, recycling of technological processes of metallurgical production, etc. The most pressing problems that the professor deals with are issues related to non-waste metallurgical production, namely: circular economy metallurgical production. Professor Onuralp Yucel is the co-author of more than 170 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals included in the Scopus scientometric database. The relevance of scientific research conducted by the professor is confirmed by the citation of his publications, whose h-index is 17. Also, during his stay at our university, the professor will conduct advanced training courses for teachers of our university.
On November 9, 2022, as part of the methodological week Faculty of Economics and Construction, associate professor M.B. Turabayeva and senior lecturer A. S. Akmaganbetova conducted an extracurricular lesson on the discipline «Management» and «Production Organization and planning», which was conducted in the form of a business game on the topic: «Bilimdi zhastar elimizdin bolashagi» in the groups PI-20k and gr.TFP-20k-3,4.
The purpose of the business game was to promote the formation of resourcefulness, ingenuity and financial literacy.
The game consisted of several sections, which were conditionally divided into knowledge of theoretical material on management and on the organization of production and planning.
Thus, the business game performs educational and educational functions in the educational process, in addition to motivational and training. Students get acquainted with the technology of the theater, a wide field for ingenuity opens up. The very same transformation contributes to the expansion of the psychological range and the formation of communicative competence.
In general, the business game turned out to be very interesting for students.
On November 7, 2022, as part of the methodological week, professor Z.S. Gelmanova for ТТS and undergraduates of the university. At which methodological techniques promoting functional literacy, as well as the development of creative thinking among students were discussed.
The materials of the seminar can be found in this post. The surrounding world is no longer analog – textual, it has been replaced by visual – digital – and this requires the expansion and rethinking of the concept of «functional literacy».
For the integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the world economic, cultural, social, digital space poses new challenges to the education system, namely, the education of a student who is able to adapt in a rapidly changing world, who has functional literacy to participate in solving global problems. Starting in 2018, global competence becomes an important part in the assessment of functional literacy, which is considered as “the ability of students to interact with the world around them.” It is “a combination of knowledge, skills, attitudes, attitudes and values successfully applied when interacting with people who belong to a different cultural environment, and with the participation of individuals in solving global problems.”
The need for socialization of the individual in the multicultural society of the country and the global world orients the national system of assessing the quality of education to acquire universal «soft» skills that have integrativity not only through the subject content, but also through values.
On 07.11.2022, as part of the study of the discipline «Metal structures» in the groups ICC-20, ICC-20k and ICC-21r, the teacher Kuzmichev S.S. held an open lesson in the form of a review lecture on the topic «Programs for calculating metal structures».
The open class was held in accordance with the schedule of training sessions. The conducted open lesson was a specially prepared form of organization of methodological work. During it, the teacher demonstrated to his colleagues his innovative experience, the implementation of a methodological idea, the use of a methodological technique and a teaching method. The chosen topic is of practical importance, since at present the requirements for specialists employed in design organizations as design engineers raise the question of knowledge of software tools for calculating and designing buildings and structures.
In general, the lesson turned out to be very interesting for students.
