MEETING OF THE REPUBLICAN EDUCATIONAL AND METHODICAL COUNCIL HELD IN REMOTE FORMAT

 

 

On April 21, 2020, an expanded meeting of the educational and methodical association of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council (EMC REMC) in the direction B072 “Production and Manufacturing Industries (Metallurgy)” at the Karaganda State Industrial University took place. The meeting was held in a remote format.

EMC consists of well-known scientists of Kazakhstan, such as doctor of technical science, professor V. Shevko, doctor of technical science, candidate of technical science, professor M. Suyundikov etc. This year, representatives of employers of leading metallurgical enterprises of the country (ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, Kazminerals LLP, Temirtau Electrometallurgical Plant LLP, Zh.Abishev Chemical and Metallurgical Institute, etc.) and the representatives of foreign partner universities were introduced into the EMC.

The rector of KSIU, chairman of UMO – Zhautikov Bakhyt Akhatovich, made a welcoming speech, outlining the purpose and objectives of the meeting.

On the first question “Analysis of the ranking of universities and educational programs in the field of Metallurgy” conducted by NCE Atameken, the head of the design office of NCE Atameken Kazbek Salimzhan took the floor.

Further, the members of EMC started discussing current issues related to the development of professional competencies in educational programs with the involvement of employers, the implementation of the roadmap for the development of educational programs in the field of “Metallurgy” based on professional standards and other issues.

In conclusion, EMC members summed up the work done, made their suggestions and recommendations for improving further work with employers, and also outlined the basic requirements for the content of the developed or updated educational programs in the field of Metallurgy.

INTELLECTUAL GAME-QUIZ “ABAYDYN SYR SANDYGY” WAS HELD IN KGIU WITHIN THE WEEK OF SCIENCE

 

The event was organized by the Department of Kazakh, Russian and Foreign Languages.

The goal of the intellectual game-quiz “Abaydyn syr sandygy” is to popularize among the teachers, youth and young scientists the heritage of the great thinker, poet Abay Kunanbaev.

The quiz questions were compiled in Kazakh, Russian and English and were dedicated to the work of Abay Kunanbayev. In addition, the quiz participants should have known the biography of the great poet.

All quiz results were evaluated automatically by quizizz.com, so the game was as transparent and fair as possible.  Winners were determined by the number of points scored from the first attempt, the second and third attempts were not taken into account, so the participants did not have the trial games. It took only 30 seconds to answer one question.

It should be noted that the quiz participants were not only teachers and students of our university, but also other universities and organizations. The doctoral students, undergraduates and students, the teachers of such universities like L. N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Kazakh Agrarian National University, Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, Semey State University named after  Shakarim, Turan University in Almaty, Pavlodar State Pedagogical University, Buketov Karaganda State University, Karaganda State Technical University, as well as teachers and students of Temirtau schools took an active part in the quiz.158 people took part in the online quiz simultaneously.

According to the results of the quiz, the places were distributed as follows:

1st places with 100% result were taken by:

1)    Nazerke Abdirakh  – the student of the group TFP-19k KSIU

2)    Ainara Adilbek – student of secondary school №9 of the city of Temirtau

2nd places with 97% result were taken by

1)    Iniyatova Aidana Erbolatovna- Lecturer, KazNPU (Almaty)

2)    Aruzhan Niyazbek – the student of the group TFP-19k KSIU

3)    Silaeva Olga Viktorovna – the dean of the department of «Economics and construction» KSIU

3rd places with 93% result were taken by:

1)    Dina Ermekbay – the student of the group TFP-19k KSIU

2)    Alexey Dergulov – the student of KSIU

3)    Merey Sagat — the student of the group TFP-19k KSIU

After the game, the participants shared their impressions and positive emotions:

“I am very grateful to the teachers of KSIU who organized this competition. The game was interesting and challenging for me. I think I have improved my knowledge”

“I really liked the game, it was very fun and informative. Thanks to the game, I remembered the life and poems of Abay. I would like even more such educational games”

“The game was very interesting, we answered hastily to some questions and even worried that we would not be in time. We’d like to have more such games.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC WEBINAR TAKEN IN KGIU ONLINE FORMAT

As part of the scientific week of April 17, 2020, the university hosted an online scientific webinar in the online format dedicated to the discussion of the development of a technological line for the production of road-building materials from industrial waste. The organizer was the Department of Technological Machines and Transport.

A report on scientific research on this topic at the webinar was made by the senior lecturer of Technological Machines and Transport PhD Kunaev Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich.

The purpose of the research work is the substantiation of the parameters of the technological line for obtaining road-building materials from industrial waste.

Tasks of the research work:

– literature and patent analysis of industrial waste processing methods;

– experimental research on the manufacture of block building materials and road-building gravel based on industrial waste;

– determination of the optimal way to increase the physicomechanical characteristics of road-building crushed stone from blast furnace slag;

– substantiation of a technological line for processing crushed stone from blast furnace slag;

– experimental studies of the effect of enrichment of road-building gravel from blast-furnace slag in a heavy-medium separator on its physical and mechanical characteristics (strength, frost resistance, water absorption);

– establishing the laws of the impact of integrated processing of slag crushed stone, including its sorting by grain strength and impregnation with a water repellent, on the water absorption of the material;

– determination of the optimal parameters of the technological process for sorting slag crushed stone by grain strength;

– substantiation of the composition of the complex of mechanization tools for processing slag crushed stone.

The discussion of the report was attended by teachers, undergraduates and students of the Karaganda State Industrial University, as well as representatives of other Kazakhstani and foreign universities, including:

REPUBLIC SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF SCIENCE WAS HELD AT KSIU

«Youth, science and technology: ways to improve and integrate ”in online format»

On April 16, 2020, the scientific conference “Youth, Science and Technology: Ways to Improve and Integrate” dedicated to the Day of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the online format at the Karaganda State Industrial University. The online conference was held on the Cisco WebEx Meetings platform with technical support from the Kazakh Academy of Infocommunications.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss the scientific results of research on the problems of metallurgy, economics, construction, engineering, technology and education, as well as practical recommendations for their use in science and practice.

The conference was conducted in three sections:

  1. Section “Engineering”
  2. Section “Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence Technology”
  3. Section “Social and Human Sciences”.

The conference participants were schoolchildren, students, undergraduates, doctoral students and young scientists of the university.

In connection with the coronavirus pandemic at our university, the conference was held in the form of an online broadcast. Live broadcast of the event was available to everyone.

The conference was attended by over 250 people from leading universities in Kazakhstan and Russia, namely: Astrakhan State Technical University, Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. Satpayev, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, Atyrau State University named after H. Dosmukhamedov, Pavlodar State Pedagogical University, South Kazakhstan State University named after M Auezov, International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Ahmed Yasawi, Kazakh Automobile and Road Institute named after L. Goncharov and others.

It was possible to follow the broadcast both on the KGIU website and on the Facebook social network.

According to the results of the conference, a resolution was adopted to further deepen the unified educational and scientific space among Kazakhstani universities, as well as to develop joint scientific and educational activities at the international level.
