On May 19, 2021, the Department of Technological Machines and Transport of the Karaganda Industrial University, within the framework of activities for the formation of a student contingent (vocational guidance), held a competition «Zhas Mechanic» among students of the Temirtau Higher Polytechnic College.

During the competition, students completed tasks on the knowledge of the theory and practice of the profession of a mechanic.  The participants of the competition were divided into two teams, each of which appointed its own captain and came up with the name of its team: «Milling machine» and «Turners».  According to the results of the competition «Zhas mechanic» the first place was taken by the team «Milling machine».  Students of the college Muzakir Beknar, Nysanbaev Oralkhan were awarded with diplomas for their active participation in the competition.  The organization of the competition and preparation of tasks was carried out by the senior lecturer of the department «Technological machines and transport» Isabekova GD.  Participants of the competition also got acquainted with the material and technical base of the department, received information about educational programs in the field of training.

The preparation of college students for the competition was carried out by the teachers of the Temirtau Higher Polytechnic College Sultanbaeva A.M., Akhmetov B.A., Akhmetova A.S.

On May 12, 2021, a meeting of student youth with the rector Bolatbek Serikbaevich Abdrasilov was held at the Karaganda Industrial University, in which more than 100 students took part in offline and online formats.

Opening the meeting, Bolatbek Serikbayevich noted that students are the main value of any university, the human capital that contributes to its development. He also noted that one of the important tasks is to increase the competitiveness of specialists, to maintain and strengthen their professional relevance, taking into account changes in the labor market.

For the development of strategic goals, according to the rector, in the coming years, the infrastructure of the university will significantly develop: the assembly hall will be reconstructed, a coworking center and recreation areas, a multifunctional sports ground will be created, new circles and sections will be opened, and much more.

Bolatbek Serikbayevich paid special attention to the support of active and talented youth and made a proposal for the payment of 30 rector’s scholarships, which was met with the approval of the students.

During the meeting, a discussion of topical issues of student youth took place, an active dialogue took place, during which the most pressing problems were identified, issues of modernization of hostels were touched upon. Students received comprehensive answers to their questions, and their proposals aimed at creating a comfortable environment in the university and hostels were also supported.

Proposals and problematic issues will be reflected in the KarIU development project for 2021-2025, the most pressing issues will be included in the current year’s plan.

Addressing the students of our university, Bolatbek Serikbayevich urged the children to actively realize themselves in different spheres of life, but not to forget about science and study: “In our university, taking into account all the voiced proposals, all conditions will be created so that you can not only get good knowledge, but also to prove themselves in creativity, science, sports and social life.”

At the end of the meeting, the students thanked the rector for the meeting and wished them success in their work.

As part of the events approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on April 28, 2021, the XIII Republican Subject Olympiad in the specialty 5B071800 – «Power Engineering» was held among students of higher educational institutions of our country. The organizer was the NJSC «ToraigyrovUniversity» of the city of Pavlodar.

The event was held in on-line format on the ZOOM platform among 3rd and 4th year full-time students in the following disciplines: «Electric machines and electric drive», «Power supply», «Electric stations and substations» and «Electric networks and systems».

The team of the NJSC «Karaganda Industrial University» was represented by the students of the Department of «Energy» of the EPO-19s group Molodid R.Ya., Achkasov M.A. and Prozorov A.A.

According to the results of the Olympiad in the team championship, the team of our university took 7th place out of 12 participating teams.

Today, at the Karaganda Industrial University, the results of the Science Month – 2021 were summed up, within which all departments of the faculties held a number of creative and scientific competitions among students, undergraduates and doctoral students.

On April 30, 2021, an award ceremony was held based on the results of the events held. The most active participants in scientific activity were awarded with diplomas and letters of thanks.

So, according to the results of the work of the traditional LI (51st) International Scientific Conference in the online format «Youth, Science and Technology: Ways of Improvement and Integration», dedicated to the Day of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which brought together the best representatives of the professional, scientific and business community, in the section «Technical Sciences» were awarded:

for the occupied III place: student gr. TEO&REO-18 Erbolov Ernaur, head: Druzhinin Valery Mikhailovich.

for the taken II place: student gr. ISA-19 ​​Levchenko Ilya, head: Siverskaya Tatiana Ivanovna.

for the 1st place taken: student gr. PTS-19k Saktapbergen Arman, head: Kasenova Aigerim Nursulanovna.

For work in the section «Digitalization and artificial intelligence technologies», the places were distributed as follows:

III place: student gr. ESW-19s Achkasov Mikhail, head: Druzhinin Valery Mikhailovich.

II place: student gr. SI-20s Zhumageldiev Mergen, head: Kan Svetlana Vasilievna.

1st place: student gr. PI-20s Podolskaya Anna, head: Kan Svetlana Vasilievna.

Based on the results of the work of the 3rd section «Social Sciences and Humanities»:

III place: student of group TPP 20k-3 Zhimakhan Әsel, supervisor: Soltan Magira.

II place: student of group U&C-18 Kazbekov Anuar, leader: Latypova Marina Aleksandrovna.

I place: a student of the group U&C-19 Diana Khafizova, head: Larisa Vitalievna Chepelyan.According to the results of the competition «The best young scientist» of the university, a doctoral student in the specialty «Metallurgy», Zhanisgaliev Talgat Tokashuly, was recognized.

Also, letters of gratitude for participation in the competition «The Best Young Scientist» were awarded to: PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of «Artificial Intelligence Technologies» Kunaev Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich; PhD, Head of the Department «Energy» Bayasilova Zukhra Anuarovna; Doctoral student of the Department of Power Engineering Kenzhebaeva Togzhan Serikovna; doctoral student of the Department of Chemical Technology and Ecology Rakhmetova Anara Askarbaevna and doctoral student of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Science Erekeeva Gaukhar Sarsengalikyzy.

According to the results of the competition «Best Scientific and Innovative Idea» the following were awarded:

In general, the conference and previous events showed that the interest of students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the faculty in scientific research is high and has a versatile character, the scientific achievements of the faculty’s teachers are in demand not only in our university, but in the republic, as well as in other regions and countries.
