On November 24, 2022, on the platform of the Karaganda Industrial University, as part of the curatorial hour, employees of the Department for Educational Work and Youth Policy with the active participation of students of the group “Technology of pharmaceutical Production”-20k-1 conducted a virtual tour “Through the pages of the works of an outstanding Kazakh poet”, a well-known public figure Mukhtar Shakhanov.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of Kazakhstan. Mukhtar Shakhanov is a writer, a politician, a fighter for truth, justice, for the national self-determination of our country. His biography clearly demonstrates that he is not just a national poet of Kazakhstan, but the conscience and honor of the Kazakh people. His work represents the three main values of the modern world – humanism, democratic traditions and the moral and ethical ideal of honor and honesty.
Mukhtar Shakhanov’s life path before the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan is perfectly illustrated by the phrase of the Ukrainian poet Yevgeny Malanyuk: “When a nation has no leader, then its leaders are poets.”
During the event, the biography of Shahan Mukhtarov and his life path were studied. As part of the virtual tour, special attention was paid to the work “The Delusion of Civilization (The Saga of the Mores of the Epoch)”, because this work of the author has received worldwide fame. In it, the poet reflects on the global problems of the spiritual impoverishment of mankind, on what happened to people, why they betray their kind and join the buzzing bazaar crowd, in which there is no individual and moral, but only consumer and material. One of the images of the spiritual degradation of society in the poem “The Delusion of Civilizations” is the stereotypes of primitive values, the repeater of which is advertising.
The famous German writer Friedrich Hitzer (author of the books “Lenin in Munich” (1995), “What is happening to Russia” (1996), “I was born five thousand years ago” (1996), “Goodbye, Tatiana” (1998) and others; translator of 28 Russian films (from Eisenstein to Medvedkin), novels by Chingiz Aitmatov, Daniil Granin and other writers) Mukhtar Shakhanov’s poem “The Delusion of Civilizations” (The Saga of the Mores of the Epoch), called “Ball Lightning for Europe”, it has been translated into many languages and in a short time has gained worldwide fame.
At the end of the event, the students noted that holding such meetings broadens the horizons of the student youth, allowing them to get acquainted with the works of famous Kazakh poets and writers, classics of world literature, who represent the modern literary process with their creativity.
Mukhtar Shakhanov is the author of many poetic books, for example, in collaboration with the famous classic of world literature Chingiz Aitmatov (People’s writer of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, winner of the Lenin Prize and three State Prizes of the USSR, the European Literary and International Prize named after Jawaharlal Nehru), the essay books “The Cry of the Hunter over the Abyss” and the play “Night of Memories of Socrates, or the Trial on the skin of a dimwit”, the performances of which are successfully held on the stages of various theaters.
