MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION SAYASAT NURBEK CHECKED THE PROGRESS OF THE ADMISSION CAMPAIGN TO THE COUNTRY’S UNIVERSITIES

[Дата публикации: 14.07.2022, 18:59:03, published by: Sergey Plotnikov]

Special attention is paid to the possibility of submitting documents online, without visiting admissions committees.

In the first half of the start day alone, more than 4 thousand applications were received from applicants. Of these, about 600 applicants submitted documents through virtual university admissions offices without leaving home. In total, over 103 thousand have overcome the threshold level. Recall that this year the passing score for national universities was 65, for other universities – at least 50 points according to the results of the UNT.

I would like to draw special attention to the fact that applicants do not have to attend their chosen university. That is, there is no need to travel to another city. You can do this at your place of residence, online or in person by submitting documents to the nearest Admissions Office. Moreover, it can be done virtually, – said the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek.

Each university forms a special group within the admissions committees, which accepts documents through modern information and communication technologies. For example, the L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University accepts documents both offline and online. The ENU virtual reception is valid for applicants from remote parts of the country. It was created in 2020 during the pandemic. For the convenience of applicants, ENU has an electronic queue system and several functional zones for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies have been created. There is also a self-service corner where applicants can prepare documents for submission at specially installed computers.

We expect that more than 100 thousand applicants will apply to the admissions committees during this week. Today we held a special meeting with the leadership of all universities. The key issues have been worked out. We are doing everything possible to help graduates take their first steps in adulthood,” said Sayasat Nurbek.

Recall that all the necessary contact information on universities and virtual admissions committees is available on the website of the National Testing Center www.testcenter.kz.
