Since 2021, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev, 500 Kazakhstani scientists are trained annually in the leading scientific centers of the
world within the framework of the Bolashak program. This year, our scientist, the head of the
Department of «Technological Machines and Transport» Nogaev Kairosh Abilovich is also
participating in this program. Since February 1, Nogaev Kairosh Abilovich has been undergoing
an internship at the National Research Technological University (NUST) «MISIS» (Moscow,
Russian Federation), which is a leading Russian university in the field of materials science,
metallurgy and mining. According to the QS World University Rankings, NUST MISIS is
among the top 500 universities in the world.
During the internship, Nogaev Kairosh Abilovich got acquainted with the material and
technical base and activities of the laboratory «Ultrafine-grained metallic Materials» of NUST
MISIS, equipped with modern research equipment. Nogaev K.A., together with the leading
scientists of the Mikhailovskaya A.V. laboratory (h-index – 18), Cheverikin V.V. (h-index – 14)
and others, conducts scientific research of micromechanical properties of bulk metal blanks
obtained by intensification of shear deformations. In accordance with the objectives of the

internship, work was carried out on the preparation of an experiment using a precision cutting
machine ATM Brilliant 220, an automatic grinding and polishing machine Struers LaboPol and
others. Currently, the microstructure of samples is being studied using a Zeiss Axiovert
200MMAT light microscope and a TESCAN scanning electron microscope, as well as the
determination of the mechanical properties of materials on the Brinell TN-600 Time Group Inc
hardness tester and the Zwick Z250 universal testing machine. The internship plans also include
conducting experiments using the complex of physical modeling of thermomechanical processes
Gleeble 3800.
The skills and results obtained during the internship will allow us to qualitatively increase
the level of research activity of scientists of our university.
