On June 28-29 this year, a meeting of the university staff on vaccination against coronavirus infection was held at the Karaganda Industrial University.

Maira Karsakpaevna Asilova, an employee of the polyclinic of the city of Temirtau, and Galina Aleksandrovna Sivyakova, vice-rector for strategic development of KarIU, spoke to the faculty and staff of the university.

During the event, Galina Sivyakova stressed that the decision to get vaccinated is a crucial step that speaks of a person’s maturity. «As an active member of our Management Board, I periodically go on business trips, where I often meet with people, spend time surrounded by colleagues, realizing that I am also responsible for their safety. Therefore, I immediately decided to get vaccinated and I advise not to postpone this decision, using the opportunity provided by the state, both for students and teachers, since work at a university is connected with people.»

At the moment, the following vaccines against COVID-19 are approved in our country: QazVac, Sinopharm / HayatVax and SputnikV.

Currently, according to Aizhan Esmagambetova, Chairman of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, «Collectives of more than 20 people must be vaccinated against COVID-19 without fail».

It should be noted that Sputnik V is one of the first three registered vaccines in the world with an efficiency of over 90%. According to the test results, in which 19,866 volunteers participated, its effectiveness was 91.6%. Kazakhstan is the 27th country in the world to use this vaccine. Vaccination of citizens against coronavirus infection began in the country on 1 of February.

Let us also remind that a campaign for university students «Get vaccinated against COVID-19 and win a prize!», according to which, students who have provided a vaccination passport from July 1 to July 30 of the current year can participate in the drawing of valuable prizes.

Also, our university is an active participant in the «Ashyq» project developed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The mobile application allows you to determine the visitor’s status using a QR code Thus, the QR code reduces the risk of COVID-19 infection for visitors and employees. The QR code is integrated with a common PCR (polymerase chain reaction) base.

We urge everyone to take responsibility for their own health and the health of others!
