Employment of graduates – the main competitive advantage of KARIU

Employment of graduates of universities in Kazakhstan is always a topical issue. This year, the employment of graduates at KarIU has reached 95% and this figure is officially confirmed by the data of the State Center for Higher Education!
As the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev noted: «The main criterion for the effectiveness of educational institutions is the employment of graduates, if they get a job, then this is the assessment of the university and college, which means their education is in demand.»
In the 2018-2019 academic year, the employment rate of graduates was 98.45%, and in the 2019-2020 academic year – 95.14%.
Today, the employment of university graduates is not only a problem for graduates, but also a problem for the universities themselves. Karaganda Industrial University, like every university in our country, is the subject of two markets: the market for educational services and the labor market for specialists, the work in which is closely interrelated. Therefore, increasing the guarantee to 100% employment after receiving an education is an important factor in the success of a modern university in the educational services market, attracting a larger number of applicants.
Since 2015, the Karaganda Industrial University has been training specialists under the state program «Mangilik el zhastary – industry!» – «Serpin-2050», dedicated to studying at universities and employment of Kazakh youth in various regions of the country.
Employment of graduates, including the «Serpin» program, is a significant indicator of the efficiency of our university. KarIU constantly pays close attention to this area of activity, which is reflected in the systematic improvement and development of the system of promoting employment of graduates and a high percentage of employed graduates annually.
During this period, contracts were concluded with 64 enterprises of the region for the conduct of professional practice for students with the possibility of considering the issues of subsequent employment of graduates at these enterprises.
All our graduate students were registered on the enbek.kz portal (electronic labor exchange), graduates’ resumes were compiled and entered into this database.
During the academic year, on an ongoing basis, close interaction is carried out with the KSU «Employment Center of the City of Temirtau» and the State Institution «Department of Employment and Social Programs» on the provision of assistance in the employment of graduates, the provision of consulting services, about available vacancies, the current state programs for the provision of assistance in the employment of young professionals
On the official website of KarIU graduates’ resumes are posted, and vacancies available at enterprises are updated monthly. On the website of the university and social networks, operational information on the availability of vacancies at enterprises of the city and region is posted and brought to the graduates.
During the academic year, meetings of graduates with employers are organized and held, excursions to enterprises in the region are organized, as well as a survey of graduates in order to study the most pressing problems related to employment.
Note that the share of graduates of the Karaganda Industrial University employed in their specialty in the first year after graduation is the main competitive advantage for participation in the national ranking of universities and is more than 95% of the total number of graduates!
As you know, ratings and their recognition are of particular importance in our country both from the point of view of the development of the education system and increasing the competitiveness of educational programs, as well as the growth of employment, the level of employment of graduates of educational institutions, business development and the national economy in general.
Recall that in 2020, according to the results of the national ranking, Karaganda Industrial University took 9th place, thereby entering the top ten technical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the considered higher educational institutions, there were 101 universities in Kazakhstan. As a basis, information was taken on the actual employment of graduates who graduated from universities, an analysis of statistics on the number of employed university graduates, working students, the speed and stability of employment, as well as the average salary of a graduate.
A high percentage of employment is the result of painstaking, systematic work of the university!
