Social policy of Karaganda industrial University this includes support for vulnerable segments of the population, therefore, social work at our University is closely linked to activities in the field of social support for students.

Entering or studying at KarIU, a student of a paid department can apply for a discount, and also get the opportunity to study on a vacant educational grant, released during the process of obtaining higher and (or) postgraduate education on the basis of an intermediate certification. Discounts and scholarships are available for both 1 semester and the entire period of study.

Social support for KarIU students also includes the following:

• scholarship support for students;

• material support for socially vulnerable categories of students (orphans, disabled people, children from low-income families, student families, etc.);

• provision of benefits for payment for the use of social infrastructure facilities of the University;

• support of students and graduates in the process of adaptation to the labor market;

• stimulating student extracurricular activities etc.

The new academic year 2020 – 2021 is no exception. According to the decision of the academic Council of September 25, 2020 and regulations on the University’s educational grant University scholarships and benefits for studying at Karaganda state industrial University from 26.10.2018 year three students of our University were awarded the KarIU educational grant, three students were awarded a scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, thirty-four students received benefits in the form of a 30% discount on tuition fees at the technical and economic college for the 2020-2021 academic year at the expense of extra-budgetary funds of the University.

The social policy implemented at Karaganda industrial University once again shows that assistance to representatives of socially vulnerable categories is and remains a priority.
