MEETING OF THE REPUBLICAN EDUCATIONAL AND METHODICAL COUNCIL HELD IN REMOTE FORMAT

On April 21, 2020, an expanded meeting of the educational and methodical association of the Republican Educational and Methodological Council (EMC REMC) in the direction B072 “Production and Manufacturing Industries (Metallurgy)” at the Karaganda State Industrial University took place. The meeting was held in a remote format.

EMC consists of well-known scientists of Kazakhstan, such as doctor of technical science, professor V. Shevko, doctor of technical science, candidate of technical science, professor M. Suyundikov etc. This year, representatives of employers of leading metallurgical enterprises of the country (ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, Kazminerals LLP, Temirtau Electrometallurgical Plant LLP, Zh.Abishev Chemical and Metallurgical Institute, etc.) and the representatives of foreign partner universities were introduced into the EMC.

The rector of KSIU, chairman of UMO – Zhautikov Bakhyt Akhatovich, made a welcoming speech, outlining the purpose and objectives of the meeting.

On the first question “Analysis of the ranking of universities and educational programs in the field of Metallurgy” conducted by NCE Atameken, the head of the design office of NCE Atameken Kazbek Salimzhan took the floor.

Further, the members of EMC started discussing current issues related to the development of professional competencies in educational programs with the involvement of employers, the implementation of the roadmap for the development of educational programs in the field of “Metallurgy” based on professional standards and other issues.

In conclusion, EMC members summed up the work done, made their suggestions and recommendations for improving further work with employers, and also outlined the basic requirements for the content of the developed or updated educational programs in the field of Metallurgy.
