April 8, 2019 Honored Builder of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department “Construction” Anatoly Vasilyevich Filatov took part in the event.

The organizer of the round table was the department “Construction”.

During the event, Anatoly Vasilyevich told students about the development of new technologies in the construction industry. Name Filatov A.V. inscribed in the golden book of the first builders of the legendary city of Temirtau. With the participation of Anatoly Vasilyevich, a sports building and two university buildings on Kalinina Street, equipped for the Faculty of Civil Engineering, were built at the time. In addition, he was simultaneously engaged in the creation and development of new technologies in construction – pile foundations and the construction of underground structures. The technologies proposed by him were tested during the construction of rolling shops, blast furnaces, and Karmetkombinat thermal power plants.

The students of our university listened with great interest to the history of the construction of Karmetkombinat, Temirtau industrial facilities. Since the 70s, the department of “Construction” of our university is one of the strongest in the country. In the laboratories of the department a lot of equipment that is used to study building materials. It is used to determine strength, thermal conductivity and many other characteristics in order to find out the condition of the building structures in use, conduct modeling of building structures, and then carry out tests to determine the actual loads and efforts that will be applied in real conditions. To this end, the department also works closely with the laboratories of the city’s enterprises and Arcelor Mittal Temirtau.
