As part of the Asian Championships in the city of Samarkand, from 20 to 25 October 2018, several starts took place simultaneously: among juniors under 18, among youths under 23, as well as the Parakanoe Championship and the Asian Cup in rowing and canoeing among adult athletes, which was attended by over 300 athletes from 15 countries.

According to the results of the competition, representatives of the school of higher sportsmanship of the Karaganda region won nine medals. In the adult category, a student of the TTTiT-15 group of Karaganda State Industrial University, Viktor Stepanov, took second and third prizes and was awarded a silver medal for a distance of 500 meters on a canoe four, a bronze medal for a distance of 200 meters in a canoe single Asian Championship among athletes 23 years and the Asian Cup among adults in rowing and canoeing.

The athletes were trained by the trainers Egorov Evgeny Vladimirovich and Petrov Vladimir Alexandrovich.
