KSIU to start implementing energy-efficient projects from Expo-2017

Among the selected projects are energy-saving heating equipment, smart power supply networks, solar charging modules on bags and backpacks, blue coal.

As the rector noted, the university has all the necessary conditions: an expanded base platform for the introduction of relevant educational technologies and the creation of digital educational production, corresponding to the audience with interactive equipment, video communication, a modern computer park, hardware and software complexes of Festo, Siemens and SEW Eurodrive, 3D –Printers, etc.

In addition, on the basis of KSIU, as a practical implementation of diploma projects in the profile of start-ups, a 3D-engineering factory laboratory is being created. There students will receive practical skills of a full cycle of 3D production and knowledge to support additive technologies in industrial enterprises.

Also, according to B. Zhautikov, the professions of the future have also been reflected in the university’s educational programs, such as management of drones, intellectual energy networks, solar and wind power plants.

In addition, the rector noted in the report that within the framework of the program “Digital Kazakhstan”, for the first time in the Karaganda region, on the basis of KSIU “Cisco Networking Academy”, 62 teachers of computer science at secondary schools and colleges of the region were trained for free at the course “IT Essentials – Fundamentals of Information Technology”. In the perspective of further cooperation is the opening of the “Karaganda Regional Center Cisco” on the basis of the University.

“Sustainable development is impossible without sustainable energy. Innovations, new ideas, non-standard solutions – this is what gave a new impetus for the implementation of large-scale tasks for the practical implementation and development of the principles of green economy to the students and faculty of KSIU after visiting Expo-2017,” B. Zhautikov said.

In total, during the three months, 1,567 students and employees of the KSIU visited the Expo-2017. When visiting the exhibition, direct contacts were established with foreign colleagues and laid the foundations for new international relations in the field of science and education.
