The main purpose of this forum – to attract students and young scientists in the process of promoting “green economy”, environmental initiatives and strengthening the basis for interaction and exchange of experiences of youth organizations in the implementation sphere of resource and energy conservations and sustainable development provision. The participants were more than 300 representatives of 22 universities of Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom. Young researchers have presented more than 200 reports.
We met with Temirtau student in a bright and airy hall of the KGIU, where he trained on the program “Serpin”.
– Sundet, was there a great competition?
– It took more than 70 people, among whom were not only bachelors, but also masters.
– How was sounded your topic and why did you choose it?
– I presented the report “Environmental issues of the Aral Sea, and Semey city.Mathematical models of sea drying”.I arrived in Temirtau from a Sairam district of South Kazakhstan region.Near my home village, there is a river Aksu, and I have always been concerned with the question of its drought due to the fact, that there is extraction of stones and sand. I have seen shoaling a river, at school I made reports on this topic. Therefore, when I entered the KGIU,I immediately asked the teacher of mathematics Meruert Kuantaeva to make mathematical calculations of the Aral Sea drought and to find out where this will lead. She agreed and became my supervisor. All the calculations we have done together.
According to the press-service of the KGIU, Sundet and his supervisor, made calculations not for all the Aral Sea, but only part of it.As a result, they got the numbers that the investigated part of the coast will dry up in ten years, and came to the conclusion that it will disappear completely after 20 years.
– The third place in the international conference – an impressive result, especially for a freshman – said Meruert Kuantaeva.- Future plans of our student – to continue research.
