Methodical Work

The main areas of methodological work in college are:

  1. Providing educational process with working (educational, methodical) documentation in accordance with the requirements of the State Standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  2. The introduction of innovative approaches to learning.
  3. Motivation of teachers and students to learn throughout life, regardless of age and level of education.
  4. Pedagogical cooperation with teachers of KarIU.
  5. Creating a mechanism for the adaptation of young teachers.
  6. Providing training for graduates in the use of information technology for general and professionally oriented appointments.
  7. Creating conditions for the realization of the creative potential of students through their participation in the SPC of various levels, competitions, contests, etc.
  8. Publication of articles in various scientific journals, video shooting, presentations.

The methodological work is organized in order to ensure high quality training of specialists who are competitive in the labor market in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education”. To implement the tasks set for the college, the methodological work is coordinated by the methodological council through cyclic methodological commissions uniting all teachers. The Chairpersons of the College’s CMC conduct creative, constructive work to achieve their goals in accordance with the CMC’s work plans and decisions of monthly meetings; the work plans of the CMC reflect all aspects of the activities of cycle commissions in the provision of educational services to the consumer, in addition, methodological products are kept records. In accordance with the plan and approved topics, in order to exchange the experience of teachers and improve the professional skills of young college teachers, classes are held annually for teacher readings. Self-education is an integral part of improving pedagogical skills, therefore, teachers regularly improve their qualifications in continuing education institutions, take various courses and participate in seminars, webinars, as well as national and international scientific and practical conferences. Under the guidance of teachers, college students participate in student scientific and practical conferences, olympiads, and competitions at various levels.

Since September 2019, the college has been working on the introduction of a dual education system. The main goal of the transition to the dual form is to provide employers with qualified mid-level specialists in the specialty 1002000 “Metallurgy of ferrous metals (by type)” according to qualification 1002213 “Technician – metallurgy”.

When introducing a dual training system into the educational process, as well as earlier, both theoretical and practical types of training are combined, but with an increase in the share of the latter to 60%. With this educational model, the student is already included in the production process at the early stages of the learning process. Such an approach allows a future specialist to deeply and efficiently master practical skills in the profession, to remove the psychological barrier when performing work in a production environment.

In our educational institution, which is a structural unit of KarIU, all conditions have been created for solving the issue of introducing dual training specifically in the specialty 1002000 “Metallurgy of ferrous metals”.

Successful work continues on improving the information structure of the teaching room. Methodical products are handed over to the methodological office to create a database of methods, techniques, forms of motivation of students for educational activities. College teachers developed lecture materials, assignments for examinations, exam materials, methodological recommendations for examinations for full-time and part-time students in all technical specialties of the college.

Each teacher builds his activities according to an individual plan. One of the points of the teacher’s plan is the mutual attendance of classes, the main purpose of which is the exchange of experience. In 2020, 10 College teachers successfully completed online training under the educational program for advanced training of College teachers in General education disciplines within the framework of updating the content of secondary education in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the amount of 80 hours, organized by the Educational and methodological center for education development of the Karaganda region,as well as our teachers successfully completed online training courses for. The purpose of attending classes by the administration is to control the quality of classes, attend exams, as well as protect course projects and term papers, control the procedure for taking exams and protection.
