REVIEW OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The scholarship program “Scientific Internships for Scientists and University Teachers” (German: “Forschungsaufenthalte für Hochschullehrer und Wissenschaftler”, Eng. “Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists”) offers an opportunity for scientists to undertake a research internship in Germany.

The purpose of the scholarship program is to finance short-term internships for the exchange of research experience and the establishment of scientific contacts with researchers from Germany.

Who can apply for a scholarship?

* Teachers of Kazakhstani universities with a degree.

What does the scholarship include

* monthly financial support in the amount of from 2000 to 2150 Euro;

* partial coverage of transportation costs.

Duration of scholarship support

* from 1 to 3 months (the final deadline is determined by an independent DAAD commission depending on the research project plan provided);

* The scholarship cannot be extended for a longer period.

Selection of candidates

* The decision on the scholarship competition is made by an independent commission consisting of professors from German universities;

* The main selection criteria are: scientific achievements and publications, a convincing research project plan.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES

Formal requirements:

* a candidate for a scholarship must be a teacher at a Kazakhstani university or an employee of a research institute;

* The research plan must be agreed with the inviting party (with a professor from Germany). The workplace at a university or research institute in Germany must be provided by the inviting party.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS
