KARIU activists, including the Chairperson of the Committee on Youth Affairs Epaneshnikova Anastasia, members of the KDM Zulkhaidar Yerkhan and Khaitova Navruz carried out a preventive raid in the hostel # 1.

The purpose of the event is to control students’ compliance with the internal regulations and residence in the hostel. During the examination of the rooms, the members of the commission noted the generally satisfactory condition of the living quarters.

Despite a number of remarks noted by the commission, most of the students maintain order at the proper level.

Also, the youth affairs committee recorded complaints and comments from students regarding the condition of the rooms in which they live. All identified complaints were forwarded for elimination to the relevant departments of the university.

Preventive raids of KDM will now be weekly, with their problematic questions students can contact the asset of KDM.

Within the framework of initiative projects of the Nur Otan party to support people of the older generation, a pilot project «Silver University» was launched at the Karaganda Industrial University. In total, 27 people have expressed their desire to study at the Silver University since the launch of the project. The project participants were most attracted by such areas as computer literacy and the school of entrepreneurship.

On February 9, 2021, the first groups of students began training. Before the start of classes, representatives of KarIU conducted an excursion around the main and new buildings of the university. During the excursion, the guests of the university saw the KarIU museum, got acquainted with the laboratory of 3D-engineering, the laboratory of the engineering profile «Electron microscopy and nanotechnology».

At the introductory lesson held in the Digital Technologies competence center, teachers and training masters of the Artificial Intelligence Technologies Department introduced the Silver University cadets to the general structure of a computer, methods of working with a mouse and keyboard, a desktop, and using the taskbar. During the entire course, which will last a month, students will learn how to work in text editors, find the information they need on the Internet, use social networks, instant messengers and other mobile applications, and the services of the EGOV e-government portal.

Let us recall that in addition to computer literacy courses, within the framework of the Silver University project, groups are completed in such areas as financial literacy, an entrepreneurship school, and a chess club.

On February 5, 2021, an online meeting of the faculty of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies with graduates of the First Temirtau Classical Lyceum (FTKL) was held at the Karaganda Industrial University in the online format. The initiators of the meeting were the students, teachers of FTKL and Druzhinin Valery Mikhailovich, who is responsible for vocational guidance in the Department of Energy.

At the beginning of the meeting, the professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies, Vice-Rector of the Karaganda Industrial University Sivyakova Galina Aleksandrovna addressed the graduates with a welcoming speech. She told the guests of the university about the main areas of application of artificial intelligence (business analytics, automatic translation, speech recognition, intelligent information security systems, recognition of visual images, etc.).

Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Kunaev introduced the graduates to the educational programs «Software Engineering», «Artificial Intelligence Technologies», «Engineering of Automation Systems», their advantages, admission rules. PTCL students learned what disciplines they will study upon admission to these educational programs, which professional competencies they will acquire, and who they will be able to work on after completing their studies.

Senior teachers Ekaterina Vladimirovna Spichak and Zhanna Ivanovna Titova showed the graduates the equipment and software of the Digital Technologies competence center, told about possible areas of its application.

At the end of the meeting, representatives of KarIU answered questions from alumni and teachers who were interested, among other things, in the possibility of further participation in such online events held by the university.

As part of the implementation of the Rukhani Zhagyru program, the library fund of the Karaganda Industrial University was replenished with new book textbooks published within the framework of the 100 New Textbooks project. The department «History of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian sciences» presented a new book fund for students as part of the methodological week of the faculty «Energy, transport and control system».

From the 2018-2019 academic year, new textbooks are being introduced into the educational process by the Department of CI and SRS within the framework of general education disciplines. In order to increase the interest of students in reading, the faculty of the department is carrying out various activities, continuing to work on introducing textbooks into the educational process, included in the library fund of the last stream of 100 projects of new textbooks.

During an open lesson in the discipline «Culturology and Psychology», students used the following textbooks:

Ter-Minasova S. Language and intercultural communication;

Boreev Yu. B. Aesthetics;

1. Gombrich History of Art;

Balm K. Theater Studies;

Elsesser T. Cinema theory: an introduction from the point of view of feelings;

In the reading room of the library of the Karaganda Industrial University, along with the reading of new books, open cognitive art classes were held on the implementation of various tasks in the lessons of the SSSP.

This event is aimed not only at shaping youth as a future professional, but also at developing the skills of reading books as a reader and developing the consciousness of the intelligentsia for the purpose of a new humanitarian education through the 100 most popular textbooks in the world.

The great thinker Aristotle once said: «Reading is the highest form of understanding», the great teacher of the nation Y. Altynsarin said: «Come on, guys, learn!» One cannot but agree with the words of great scientists, one of the main goals of the country’s spiritual modernization is quality education, which will undoubtedly contribute to the formation of a reading culture.

February 11, acting  Chairman of the Board-Rector of the Karaganda Industrial University Zhautikov Bakhyt Akhatovich took part in a direct line organized by the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Karaganda region.  Bakhyt Akhatovich acquainted all the participants of the event with the work carried out at the university on the prevention of corruption and the implementation of the «Sanaly urpag» project.

The anti-corruption activity of KarIU, being systemic and continuous.  For the active prevention of corruption violations in all educational programs of the bachelor’s degree from the enrollment in 2019, the discipline «Fundamentals of Law and Integrity» has been introduced.

In 2019 and 2020.  In order to increase the transparency of management management, monitoring of corruption risks in management management and academic specifics of the university was carried out, and self-reports were prepared to the republican project office «ADAL BILIM» based on the results of internal self-diagnostics.  In order to organize a permanent feedback system, a helpline, the headquarters «Clean Session» are working, the Rector’s Blog, the accounts of the University, the Rector and the Ethics Commissioner on social networks Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Through the automated information system of the Platonus University, attendance, academic performance, control activities, final certification of students are monitored.  A gradual transition to the written form of exams is being carried out, the Antiplagiat program is used to check students’ term papers and theses, master’s theses.

At the end of 2020, the Karaganda Industrial University was awarded a letter of thanks by the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Karaganda region for its active work in the field of combating corruption offenses.
