Thirty years ago, a limited contingent of Soviet troops in Afghanistan celebrated a victory. Victory over cruelty, suffering, injustice and loss was hold. The withdrawal order was signed on February 15, 1989. Since then, the date is celebrated in the entire post-Soviet space. Today the feat of the young then-soldiers and officers was remembered especially solemnly.

The solemn meeting devoted to the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan began with a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of those killed in this war. The rally ended with flowers laid at the monument on the square of Temirtau. According to statistics, 22,269 Kazakhstanis went through the Afghan war, of whom 924 remained on the battlefield, 21 went missing. For courage and heroism, more than 200 thousand servicemen were awarded orders and medals of the USSR, 86 were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, of which five of our compatriots were awarded this title.

A concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan took place in the Temirtau Palace of Culture. In the foyer of the Palace of Culture was presented a museum exposition, consisting of 4 sections. One of them is dedicated to the Temirtau citizens who have not returned from the war. Also, combat weapons that were used in the Afghan war were presented. The solemn event was attended by students from our university.

In order to attract students to regular physical education and sports, as well as health promotion, and improvement of physical and sports fitness of students from 13 to 15 February 2019 on the platform of the Karaganda state industrial University was held a workshop on ” the formation of a culture of health and prevention of addictive behavior among students.”

At the workshop, topical problems of preserving the health of students of professional educational organizations, issues of AIDS prevention in the youth environment, modern approaches to the formation of a culture of health of the younger generation with the participation of specialists were considered.

The workshop was attended by the teaching staff of the university, the director of educational work and youth policy of KSIU, the teacher-psychologist of the fuel and energy complex, the leaders of student assets and the volunteer club “Kamkor”.

Within the framework of the workshop, training sessions and a round table for teachers were held and organized.

Within the framework of the program of healthy lifestyle, prevention of socially significant diseases, promotion of mass physical culture and sports activities of students at the university, such events are held on a regular basis.

From February 6-8, 2019, in the city of Semey, a republican olympiad was held in the discipline “Basics of designing and machine parts” among universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“Machine parts and design fundamentals” is one of the main engineering courses taught to most engineering students. The course program studies the structure, principles of operation, as well as methods for designing parts and assemblies of general-purpose machines. Competitive tasks of the Olympiad demanded to show the ability to technical creativity in the conditions of implicitly set tasks. Such tasks contribute to the development of high-quality, error-free work skills of the designer of new competitive products.

In this Olympiad, our university was represented by students of the TTT&T-16k groups Dauletbai Shүkir Zhanbolatyly, Myrzabekov Nursultan Abdі-gaparuly and TM&O-16k Raiymbek Nurgazy Nurzhanuly under the supervision of a teacher of the department “Technological Machines and Learners and Teachers”

Only 10 teams from the regions of Kazakhstan took part in the Republican Olympiad.

At the end of the Olympiad, our students showed brilliant results and took an honorable second place. Our participants were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes. We congratulate our students with a victory !!!
