TUBERCULOSIS IS A CONTAGIOUS AND VERY DANGEROUS DISEASE!!!

[Дата публикации: 02.06.2022, 09:41:50, published by: Sergey Plotnikov]

Unlike other infectious diseases, it has a chronic course, which significantly increases the risk of infection. The causative agent of tuberculosis is Mycobacterium tuberculosis, or “Koch’s wand”. Most often, the disease is transmitted by airborne droplets. During the day, the patient can secrete billions of bacilli, so it is important to follow the rules of personal hygiene for all patients.

How does the disease proceed?

Tuberculosis can initially occur as a common cold, pneumonia, and sometimes even be asymptomatic, so prevention and early detection of this disease is of particular importance. It must be remembered that this insidious infection damages all organs and systems of the body.

Prevention of tuberculosis

All persons over the age of 15 should undergo fluorography at least once every two years, but there are so–called maternal groups of the population who should undergo fluorography more often – once a year or even once every six months. Once a year, fluorography is performed for employees of children’s and adolescent institutions, persons whose activities are related to the production, storage, transportation and sale of food, utilities and household services, medical workers, as well as patients with diseases that reduce anti-tuberculosis protection: lung diseases, diabetes mellitus, stomach ulcers and 12-digit intestines.

Where can I get a fluorography?

In the polyclinic at the place of residence, if you have a passport and an insurance policy. At the same time, it must be remembered that timely fluorographic examination is the key to early detection of tuberculosis and, ultimately, the first step to recovery.

Non-specific methods of tuberculosis prevention include:

  • Measures that increase the body’s defenses (rational work and rest regime, proper nutrition, quitting smoking and alcohol consumption, hardening, physical education, etc.);
  • Measures that improve the housing and industrial environment (reducing crowding and dustiness of premises, compliance with ventilation rules).

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES!!!
