On May 31, the Karaganda industrial university hosted a round table “Tarikhtan tagylym-otken tagzym” dedicated to the day of remembrance of victims of political repression.

The event was attended by deans of faculties, deputy deans of faculties, teachers of departments, activists.

The purpose of the event is to form national historical consciousness, strengthen Kazakhstan’s identity and unity on the basis of a common history, strengthen the values of equality, tolerance and friendship of all ethnic groups, stability in the country.

Director of the department of educational work and youth policy Madina Meiramovna Salpenova noted that this day is of special importance not only for the history of our country, it is a memorable event for hundreds of thousands of peoples who were exiled to Kazakhstan during the years of Stalin’s repressions.

The head of the department of “History of Kazakhstan, Social and Humanitarian disciplines” Soltan Magira Soltanovna noted that in the history of the country, along with the great epochs, there were many tragic periods. During the Stalinist repressions, which became one of the most terrible tragedies of the twentieth century for the Kazakh people, heroism and solidarity of people of various nationalities helped to survive and survive.

In this regard, the lecturer of the department of “History of Kazakhstan, social and humanitarian disciplines” Laura Oralbekovna Shoeva notes, today we need a history that accumulates at the national level, that is, it can be the foundation of a national worldview.

At the end of the meeting, the director of the ddepartment of educational work and youth policy Madina Meiramovna Salpenova noted that each of us should not forget that our civic duty to the nation is to revive the history of the past in the minds of future generations, not to forget the lessons of history.
