On January 21, 2021, students of the Karaganda Industrial University took an active part in the video lecture of the nationwide hour of honesty «Shakarim’s will is a mirror of honesty», dedicated to the work of the poet, writer, philosopher, historian Shakarim Kudaiberdiev.

Kudaiberdiev Shakarim (1858-1931) is a famous educator, poet, writer, translator, composer, historian and philosopher. Born in 1858 in the Chingistau mountains, in the village of Karauyl, Abay district, Semipalatinsk region (now East Kazakhstan region). He was brought up by his cousin uncle, the great Kazakh poet and educator Abai Kunanbayev, which affected his formation as a citizen and poet. He studied Eastern and Western classical literature. One of the most educated people of his time – he was fluent in Russian, Turkish, Persian, Arabic; studied works on philosophy, religion, psychology.

In his works, he urged young people to learn from Abai («About youth», «About old age», «Let’s, youth, we will find our way»), advocated the purity of morals («Life», «Offenders», «Passion», «Balagur»), Praised sincere feelings, humanity, the desire for knowledge (« Youth » «Secret», «True holiness»).

This video lecture is primarily aimed at the formation of anti-corruption ideology in society, such qualities as decency, honesty before the population through social networks.

The event was organized by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
