August 25 at Karaganda industrial University on the WebEx platform several on-line briefings were held with students and faculty of our University, dedicated to the organization of the educational process in the 2020-2021 academic year.

The rector of KarIU congratulated all participants of the briefing on the beginning of the academic year and he told about the subtleties of the educational process in the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, also, during the event, he answered the questions put by the participants of the briefing.

The main and, of course, the most relevant question is the question of distance learning.

Bakhyt Akhatovich noted that in connection with the pandemic of coronavirus infection in the first semester of the new academic year, training will mainly be organized telecommuting, the traditional format will be used for laboratory and practical work, professional practice. Sanitary and epidemiological rules and regulations will be strictly observed in all buildings of the University.

The telecommuting format will be conducted on-line, in which all cariu students will be provided with direct contact between the teacher and students using video, audio or text communication in real time.

In offline mode, students will perform laboratory and practical tasks at a convenient time, but within the deadlines for their completion.

The form of submission: video or audio recording, text format, presentation, group or individual project, or virtual laboratory work, is determined by the teacher.

In order to facilitate distance learning for students, the following services will be available: educational process management system “Platonus”, Cisco Webex, Zoom conference platform, corporate mail, educational materials based on the student portal, electronic library resources, video lectures and study cases in students ‘ personal accounts.

Since the beginning of the introduction of the high-readiness mode, the educational process and intermediate and final attestations were held at the Karaganda industrial University in a telecommuting format. At the moment, the University is taking preventive measures to prevent infection with a new coronavirus infection: mask mode, social distance, regular quartz, ventilation and treatment of premises, temperature is measured at the entrance with a thermal imager, sanitizers are installed.

A pleasant surprise for the faculty of KarIU was the news about the increase in wages by 30% from September 1, 2020, this was made possible by increasing the cost of grants for higher education and will also strengthen the material and technical base of the University.

summing up the event, Bakhyt Akhatovich said that he is ready to dialogue with students of Kariu, and reminded that students can write their questions and suggestions to the rector’s blog on the University’s website, as well as personally to him.
