This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

25 years ago, a national referendum adopted the Basic Law, which became a solid Foundation for Independence, guarantee of successful development and international authority of Kazakhstan on the world stage. As the First President-Elbasy Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev noted in one of his speeches: «on August 30, 1995, at the referendum on the Constitution, we chose the only correct path.” After all, by its content and purpose, the Constitution is a political program of the state. It defines Kazakhstan’s vision of its place in the world, the way in which our country is developing and defines the main direction on this path. The basic law defines the ideology of the country, which includes the values, principles of relations in society, relations between the people and the authorities that currently exist in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From the very first day of Independence, the Constitution has become a powerful factor in the growth of prosperity and stability and has helped us all to realize ourselves as a unified people United by a unified territory and historical identity.

All achievements of sovereign Kazakhstan are concrete result of the implementation of the Constitution and the legislation adopted on its basis. Today, our state is one of the leaders in the post-Soviet space. The Constitution made it possible to create a new society, state, economy, and a new history of Kazakhstan as a solid Foundation. Thanks to her, the land of Kazakhstan provided equal opportunities for development to all Kazakhstanis of various ethnic groups, but connected by a common historical fate.
