“DAY OF THANKS”: TRADITION OF THE KAZAKH PEOPLE

[Дата публикации: 04.03.2020, 17:29:51, published by: Әкімшілік]

On March 2 and 4, 2020, as part of the action plan of the Karaganda State Industrial University for implementing the “Rukhani Zhagyru” Program for 2020, the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan for 1st year students organized an excursion to the historical and local history museum of the city of Temirtau, where our students became participants in the exposition the theme “Fate” dedicated to the celebration of the Day of gratitude.

Day of Thanks  in Kazakhstan is a relatively new holiday filled with special meaning and spiritual joy, which appeared thanks to the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev. This proposal, expressed at the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in 2016, received widespread support from the population.

The idea of the holiday immediately pleased Kazakhstanis. And for this reason. Kazakhstan is known for its multinationality:

– the country unites 130 ethnic groups and 17 religious denominations;

– during the twentieth century, more than five million people from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus moved to its territory.

But at the same time, all the conditions for interethnic and interfaith harmony are created in our Republic. This is a special national idea, which has its roots in the days when the Kazakhstanis received numerous immigrants after the Stolypin reforms, collectivization and dispossession. Mutual assistance, support and responsiveness became the basis for the formation of a modern holistic society. And for five years now, on March 1, Kazakhstan has been remembering the bygone times and thanks each other for the kindness and generosity in everyday life.

In honor of the Day of Thanks  , museum staff presented specially prepared historical facts and historical exhibits, as well as introduced students to the history of our country on the principle of “One destiny, one united nation, one country”. In particular, they told how Temirtau became an industrial giant with a multinational settlement and the history of the region. The exhibition presented memories of the history of the deported nation: Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Bashkirs, Chechens, Germans, Koreans, etc.

Most of the students who attended the event were students studying on the Serpin program from all over our country.

Participants of the event express their gratitude to the staff of the Temirtau Museum for organizing patriotic education. Indeed, the holding of such events allows us all to recall the past, the historical events in which multinational Kazakhstan was formed, as well as instill the values of the older generation of students, teach tolerance, the ability to find a common language, respect our origin and love our homeland.

The event was attended by students of specialties “Metallurgy”, “Information Technology”, “Technology of metal forming”, “Pharmaceutical production technology”, “Software Engineering” and “Industrial and civil construction.”
