Representatives of the Karaganda State Industrial University took part in the international scientific and practical conference “Modernization of public consciousness: Alash and continuity of the idea of independence”, which was held on November 10 in Astana and was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of Alash-Orda.

The conference was held in the Congress Center of EXPO-2017. Its members were deputies of the Parliament, heads of state bodies, public figures, scientists alashoveds, as well as representatives of scientific and creative intelligentsia from all regions of Kazakhstan and other countries.

The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova addressed the audience by reading the welcoming speech of the head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev. In it, in particular, it was said that the activity of the “Alash” movement in the beginning of the 20th century, aimed at protecting political and social rights, preserving the unity of the people, is a vivid example of selfless service to its people. The passionate ideas of the Alash movement are in touch with the goal of our ancestors in building an independent state, and their dream is achieved today. Kazakhstan became an independent state, recognized in the world. “In my article” Looking to the Future: Modernizing Public Consciousness, “I outlined specific tasks to study and study our history, to support our native culture,” Nursultan Abishevich wrote. “We aim to ensure the sustainable development of our state by modernizing public consciousness in accordance with the requirements of today’s time”

KGIU lecturers took part in the section sessions “Russian Revolutions of 1917 and Alash-Orda” and “Innovative Ideas of the Political Platform of Alash-Orda: Development and Realization”. The participants of the conference discussed the historical role of the Alash movement on the way to achieving independence, developing respectful attitude to their history and preserving the highly moral ideals of the Kazakh people within the framework of the Ruhani Jangyrou program.

As a result of the conference, a resolution was adopted on the perpetuation of the memory of the activists of the Alash movement, the need to systematize research on their heritage, and the upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism.
