On August 16, in Karaganda State Industrial University, in order to develop mutually beneficial international cooperation in research activities, a meeting with a foreign delegation – academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences – was held.

Russian and Kazakh scientists took part in the meeting:

• Malyshev Yuri Nikolayevich – President of the State Geological Museum. IN AND. Vernadsky RAS, President of the Academy of Mining Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor;
• Zakharov Valeriy Nikolaevich – Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science “Institute for Problems of Integrated Development of the Subsurface of the Russian Academy of Sciences”, Corresponding Member of the RAS, laureate of the N. Melnikov Prize, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor;
• Zaidenvarg Valery Evgenievich – Vice-President of OJSC RosUgol Company, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Coal Market Conditions, member of the Presidium of the Academy of Mining Sciences, laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor;
• Aliev Samat Bikitaevich – Deputy Director of the Department for Business Development of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Member of the International Academy of Informatization, Academy of Mining Sciences, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor;
• Kenzhin Bolat Mauletovich – Director of Karaganda Engineering Consortium LLP, foreign member of the Academy of Mining Sciences of Russia, Honorary Worker of the Coal Industry of the RK, Honorary Mechanical Engineer of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Doctor of technical sciences, professor;
• Smirnov Yuri Mikhailovich – a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Mining Sciences, a participant and laureate of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR and KazSSR, the VVU of the Russian Federation, the head of the Department of Physics of KSTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

The guests visited the museum KGIU. During the tour the museum employee acquainted the Russian scientists with the history of the university. For KGIU in 2017, a significant year: the 50th anniversary of the 1967 issue of the release of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev Nursultan Abishevich. The delegation was very interested in the biography and achievements of Nazarbayev NA, as well as other outstanding graduates: Nazarbayeva SA, Soskovets ON, Sarekenov KZ, Suleimenov TS. and others.

Also for the guests an excursion on the unique with the material and technical base of the university was conducted. During the excursion the guests visited the laboratory of electric power engineering and automation of technical systems, the laboratory of the engineering profile “Electron microscopy and nanotechnology”, the pilot industrial site of the center of metallurgy and others.

As a result of the meeting, memorandums of cooperation were signed between the State Research and Design Institute of the Academy of Mining Sciences, the FGBUN “Institute for Complex Development of Subsoil Resources”. Academician N.V. Melnikov, RAS, OJSC RosUgol Company, Coal Market Market Institute LLC, and Karaganda Machine-Building Consortium LLP.

This event was held with the aim of developing cooperation in the field of scientific research, training of competitive specialists, as well as solving technological problems by joint efforts at the international level.
