Solemn events dedicated to the Day of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan were held at the Karaganda Industrial University. As part of this week, the LII Republican Scientific and Practical Conference “Youth, Science and Technology: Ways of Improvement and Integration” was held, where issues of anti-corruption and academic honesty were raised for the successful conduct of scientific and educational work.
The complex of events ended with a solemn ceremony of awarding professors and teachers with letters of thanks for their contribution to the development of Kazakhstani science. The results of the university competition “The Best Scientist-2021” were also summed up. The teachers who won prizes were awarded solid cash prizes from Arcelor Mittal Temirtau JSC and memorable awards from Halyk Bank JSC.
At Karaganda Industrial University, from April 13 to 15, 2022, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Ratings (IAAR) conducts international specialized accreditation of educational programs for doctoral studies 8D07101 “Nanotechnologies in Engineering” and master’s programs 7M07112 “Power Engineering”, 7M07110 “Automation and Control”.
The Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces the launch of a scholarship program for foreign students, including non-citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to study at Kazakhstani universities.
In 2022, 490 bachelor’s, 50 master’s and doctoral programs will be awarded for 10 grant places. Applications will be accepted for the period from March 30 to June 30, 2022

On March 17, 2022, an informal meeting (non-conference) for businessmen and
developers – specialists in the field of information technology was held in the IT-hub «Terricone
Valley» in Karaganda!
A non-conference is a format of a discussion event in which the participants themselves
determine the course of its work. The event combines lectures from speakers, networking and
communication in an informal setting.
The non-conference was attended by Vice-Rector for Research and International
Relations Saparkhodzhaev Nurbek Pazharbekovich and two teachers of the Department of
Artificial Intelligence Technologies Titova Zhanna Ivanovna and Tokseit Dinara Kuandykovna,
as well as 35 students studying under the educational programs «Software Engineering»,
«Artificial Intelligence Technologies», «Engineering of automation systems» and «Processing of
metals by pressure».
The main topic of the event this time was game development (GameDev). This topic was
of particular interest to our students, members of the game programming club, which has been
functioning under the guidance of the senior lecturer of the Department of Artificial Intelligence
Technologies Zhanna Ivanovna Titova since September 2021.
Speaker Saadulayev Islam made a presentation on the business projects he launched.
During the speech, the expert shared his knowledge in the field of emerging market analysis and
told the audience how to develop a minimum viable product (MVP) with minimal investment
and adapt it for various playgrounds, including international ones.
Further, at the non-conference, there were speeches by speakers in the business and
development halls. The first speaker, Maxim Ivanchenko, spoke on the topic «Gamedev: from
hobby to profession». During his speech, he spoke about the necessary skills for working in the
field of computer game development, directions, codes and game design.
In the development hall, a lecture was held by Evgeny Zakharov, who spoke on the topic
“Career of a game developer.” The participants of the non-conference who were in this hall
learned how best to start your professional path in the IT field in Kazakhstan, what initial ones
are needed to work in this industry. Artem Slesarenko, who spoke on the topic «The experience
of self-publishing on the console and PC markets», shared with the students of Karaganda
Industrial University the experience of releasing a game on different platforms.
Sergey Plotnikov, a student of the PI-21 group of the department, received a prize in the
form of a book from the organizers of the non-conference as the most active participant.
The past event aroused keen interest among the students of KarIU who took part in it.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies of KarIU will continue to cooperate with
the IT-hub «Terrikonovaya Dolina» and the Department of Informatization, Public Services and
Archives of the Karaganda region.
