On February 7, 2020, in the Historical and Cultural Center of the First President of Temirtau, a meeting was held dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, honored professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of Toleutay Smakovich Baygabatov Karaganda State Industrial University Ө Өnegeli өmіr zholdary “.
The purpose of this meeting is to give youth a labor example of the activities of a qualified teacher, a professor who devoted his whole life to the preparation of highly qualified and competent specialists, professionals in their field, capable of self-development and self-realization.
Baygabatov Token Smakovich, a veteran of the Karaganda Metallurgical Plant and an outstanding scientist, organizational skills, scientific works and speeches of which have earned well-deserved authority among colleagues, undergraduates and students, not only in our country, but also in the near and far abroad.
Token Smakovich’s personality is multifaceted and serves as a role model. His working career testifies to inexhaustible energy and enormous industriousness, selfless, dedicated service of the chosen profession. He worked continuously at KSIU for 50 years, educated more than one galaxy of famous graduates.
Colleagues and students know him as a friendly, objective teacher and note the high professionalism and efficiency, exactingness and hard work.
Token Smakovich perfectly combines teaching with the scientific and methodological work necessary to improve the educational process, shares his knowledge and skills with young colleagues.
During the meeting, a presentation was presented telling about the life and work of the honored veteran of labor, as well as the wishes of colleagues and students of Toleutai Baygabatov were expressed.
At the end of the event, acting Head of the Historical and Cultural Center of the First President R.E. Mustafin presented guests with souvenirs.
It should be noted that in our university many veterans of labor continue to work today, with valuable knowledge and decades of work experience.

Health is the most important thing a person has. The ability of a person to work, physical and mental stress depends on health. Exercising helps us to maintain physical fitness and good mood.
From the beginning of February 2020, a traditional student sports contest was launched at the Karaganda State Industrial University, the goals and objectives of which are: promoting a healthy lifestyle among students, attracting students to regular sports, and identifying the strongest sportsmen in sports for recruiting faculty teams and university.
Student teams in 8 sports will compete for the title of strongest: mini-football, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, togiz-kumalak, checkers, chess-players and asyks. The teams of faculties of boys and girls of full-time education and undergraduates of our university are allowed to participate in the Games.
Football players opened the sports day, the second went to the start of the basketball team.
According to the results of the student sports contest, the winning team is awarded with a diploma and a cup. Winners in the individual championships in individual sports will also be awarded with diplomas.
As part of the Olympics, regional competitions in football, basketball and other sports will also be held.
The chief judge of the sports and athletics meeting is Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physical Culture, SRSiFK of the Physical Culture Section, Trus Alla Borisovna.
Competitions are held in the sports building of the university.

On February 6, 2020, members of the regional advocacy group on religious issues held a meeting with first-year students and students of the technical and economic College of the Karaganda state industrial University on the topic « Main conditions and factors for the emergence of destructive pseudo-religious movements. Prevention of religious extremism and terrorism among young people».
Speakers of the meeting was Tussupbekov Zharkyn Amantaevich –cultural studies, Zhumadilda Eldos Kuandykuly -theologian of the OS «Nurly Bilim», the Imam of the mosque of Temirtau, Fateeva Maryia Dmitrievna-member of the mothers Board of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan, a member of the Peacekeepers, the President of the Council of soldiers ‘ mothers of Karaganda region, Dalabaeva Gulnar Bakenovna – member of OS «Youth movement for the future of Kazakhstan», member of the regional IRG, Bekturov Nurzhan Erbolatuly – theologian, SOI, «Center for the study and analysis of problems of the interfaith relations of the Karaganda region».
The speakers told the meeting participants about the current religious situation in Kazakhstan, traditional religions, the emergence of radical religious and terrorist communities, the activities of non-traditional religious beliefs, the distinctive characteristics of new religious movements, methods of recruiting followers, and the danger of these trends for society and the individual. They also provided explanations about the responsibility of a person for distributing audio, video, and text materials in social networks that call for extremist and terrorist actions and the types of punishment for these offenses, including fines for them.
During the event, the video «the Reverse side «of pure» Islam» was demonstrated, after which our students took an active part in the discussion, analyzed examples of ads and advertising posts that should alert and raise doubts, asked questions, and received full and comprehensive answers to them.
